IC FORM  |  Discord

- Please help me to fill out this form and provide any feedback that you have.

Hello, here comes this new set - KeyKobo OHM.
As a keyboard enthusiast, I believe that everyone is familiar with the green PCB colors, and the inspiration of this set is from the colors of PCB.
The golden sublegends in the base kit is from the metal pads on the PCB.

About Golden Sublegends

In order to better match the concept and lower the cost at the same time, I choose tripleshot subs for making the sublegend’s gold, so that the sublegends can change their color with different lighting conditions, rather than only bland yellow color.

Colors

Color chips are approved. Waiting for the final round caps samples.

Kittings

The space cadet golden sublegends are tripleshot.

a perfect dark green set to fill my void of a wavez re-run, and it's even got cadet sub-legends! I do wish that the shift and caps lock mods weren't centered though(ie: 9009 r3) but I'm looking very forward to this set when it becomes available.

Shame to see pad printed sublegend on Keykobo when they have tripleshot molding capabilities, but seeing this is in-stock maybe it wasn't available at the time.

If there is still time to make kitting adjustments: r1 End and r1 PgDn should be in the numpad kit since those are for 1800 layout support.

Also you might want to change the font and size for the modifier/spacebar labeling. This one is very small and illegible.

OP states that pad printed was picked intentionally and that it'll look different in different lighting.

I'm cautiously into this. It'll depend on pricing but tentatively in.

Oh, please consider purse caps. It's good. Don't listen to the haters. It's good.

It doesnt make 0 sense. I agree that an icon bottom row would be cool. You know like symbols on a PCB. It does make sense even if you dont like it.

Gold subs are very cool, but I can't help but think that the legends should be white, to match the typically white screen printing on a PCB. Also I'd love to see some novelties...

They are all mac symbols, so yes they don't make sense for most buyers. At least with text, its not directly exclusive to an os.

Why are the upper left corners of the color chips blurred? Why aren't we being told what the exact colors are, so that we can obtain color swatches for viewing outside of an uncalibrated, inaccurate monitor?

At this point, I'd forget about this set until an actual sale announcement is made. The fact that the designer has run Interest Checks, Group Buys, In-Stock Sales, and completed fulfillments for 5+ sets including 2 rounds for KKB Retro Mixed Lights in that same  time since the interest check for Ohm was first posted tells me this ain't even on their back burner but an afterthought. At least Geon is bringing back GMK BRG if you're looking for a Green doubleshot ABS set.

Notice how there wasn't an update/change log until almost a year later when I commented asking if this set was dead? You could almost assume they forgot about this set considering the continued activity for other aforementioned sets that the designer has worked on in that year's time.

My point still stands. Assume it's not happening until an actual update is given. All we've gotten is renders for the past year with radio silence in between

On the "J" key without the homing bar, the arrow sublegend should be lower on the key to align with the "K" key's arrow sublegend. I understand why the arrow is higher on the homing "J" key (though I feel it should still be lower, and be a part of the homing bar's color), but there is no reason for it on the non-homing key.

I think people who specifically opt to use the non-homing "J" key should not have the aesthetic broken with that floating arrow.

I recommend lifting the arrows on "K" and "L" to match the current height of the arrow on the "J" keycaps.

I agree with dvorcol, this is also how cannoncaps 407 did those legends. So it is a good reference to see how it looks in comparison.

Any Accent ISOs? Or are we just stuck with only 1 option?

Cannoncaps 407 doesn't look too bad. I think this is a reasonable solution.

I also see the same solution on the new IC for GMK CYL Astraeus https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=123523.0
