Making Stuff Together! / Re: Stupid quick PCB design

you never explained your goal with this board, so i can only assume. i would think that you also want a usb connector, a voltage converter, a crystal for a reasonable clock and support capacitors for every vcc pin of the mcu. also as far as i know the rp2040 is available only in qfn packages which is surface mounted and does not need through holes (apart from the vias for the ground pad). depending on your use case the usb connector is optional, usb fullspeed (12 MHz) works quite well even without good impedance matching, so you can route it off the pcb to another one, just route them as differential pair and care to keep them roughly the same length.

New Members / Re: Welcome new members!

First off, welcome to the world of keyboards. There are two things you will discover quite shortly about keyboards and keyboarding related accessories: first, they are a moneypit. Your money? all gone. Second, they are awesome; you will be poor but happy.

OK, LOGISTICS: you are currently a New Member. That means you can view nearly all of the forums, and post replies, including attachments and videos, in every forum. There are a couple forums you can't see, but no worries, they're a bit like spamalot; they are silly places where only silly things are done. At some point (currently 50 100 60 posts, but subject to change without notice), you will join the ranks of the Full Members, soldiers of fortune who are allowed to submit NEW topics to the classifieds and group buy forums.

TL;DR YOU NEED AT LEAST 25 POSTS AND 60 DAYS OF MEMBERSHIP TO POST NEW TOPICS IN CLASSIFIEDS & GROUP BUYS  :-*

HOWEVER: do not think that you should simply spam your way up the clacker ladder. Your keyboard, as you will soon learn, is a refined tool only meant for the purest of thoughts. If ye spam, we will delete. Instead, have fun, ask questions, comment on demik's flatulence, etc. in short, LURK LESS! we welcome your input.gogo anime pc

SO THEN: Welcome to geekhack! Have fun clacking! (and sorry about your wallet :D)

P.S. WalletHack is REAL, read more about it here: Unhacking the wallet in 2015 - confessions of an addict (warning: long)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I’m already getting a sense of how deep (and expensive 😅) this hobby can be, but I’m excited to dive in and learn more. I’ll definitely be joining in on the conversations — looking forward to clacking with you all!

A real HHKB has a 1.75u right Shift, and a 6u Space Bar which allows the right Alt/Meta key to be in a position more accessibly by the thumb.

That is really a nice concept and cyberpunk style keyboard we would love to see. Good luck!

It all just happened so quickly and efficiently.

The Republican long game took 2+ decades to get Reagan into office and another 2+ to get Trump in. That was mostly a fluke (who knew that Putin would be so effective?) and they were like the dog that finally caught the car it was chasing.

This time, the Heritage Foundation had Project 2025 fully worked out and printed up.
