It's sad to see these numbers. I'm really rooting for this kit! Quick question for you, donut: is there are particular number for base kits to reach where you'd consider buying out the rest so MOQ is reached? I only ask because there's numerous kits out and on the horizon that I have my eye including this one, and because you're no longer waiting until the buy period is over to collect payment, I have to be pragmatic about how I spend the very little free cash I have. I hope you understand :)
Ergonomics / Good ergonomic mechanical keyboard that fits what I'm looking for?

It seems the trend is for these smaller keyboards these days. I'm not really into that, I like em big, even with 10 key. I got really fast at 10 key back when I worked at blockbuster video. I'd like it to be split as well, but even though its split, I still need it to be sturdily connected cause I like to sit with it in my lap. Is there a keyboard out there for me? It would be awesome if it was also backlit, but I can live without that if I have to. I have big hands so these tiny keyboards really aren't my thing. Oh I'd also like it to use cherry switches if possible, and I'd like to be able to use my own keys that I pick out somewhere.

Too much to ask? lol

Everything is compatible with a standard buckling spring of the same era, except for the keystems, as they're "solid" and don't have room for a spring.

Theoretically, you could get a set of buckling spring stems, and the spring/plate assemblies, and bolt mod the thing to buckling spring (once you remove the rubber dome sheet).  Would be a huge pain in the ass, but everything else is the same.

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure I understand what the gaskets do. But! I'm always up for trying new and different things. I also really like this aesthetically and that it's a 65-ish with a seemingly standard layout. I would get one!
Actually this mounting system can produce a better bottom sound when you typing, the rubber between plate and case will remove or reduce the unwanted vibrations. Instead of using TOP/Bottom mounting, I believed that this gasket mount can add a compression force on plate when we tight the screws. When user typing on the keyboard, the force will be decomposed to thousands of contact points on rubber stripe(instead of 6-8 screws point for top/bottom mounting system). Itís a tricky problem but I will try my best to make it happens.

hi, so assuming we buy everything thru the GB, to build out a keyboard we would need:
the base kit +
a plate+

how does the top case support the different bottom row layouts?  blockers that clip in?  looks really great, would be nice if we could see it with other keycaps, otherwise this would really be a keyboard built for only one keycap set!

I'm attempting to tone down my enthusiasm for this new developer fsf/open source world I've stumbled into has been a bit of a challenge.

If I would have started at 15 when I learned of C/C++ I would be tempered by now. Any advice would be appreciated.
