I'm actually more optimistic than the Intel doomers, as the IPC isn't that bad, if their x3d thing works at all, I think 30-40% from 285k is easily cover-able.Rumors are starting to circulate that new Intel is also degrading.

what do ou need 52 cores for?
you never explained your goal with this board, so i can only assume. i would think that you also want a usb connector, a voltage converter, a crystal for a reasonable clock and support capacitors for every vcc pin of the mcu. also as far as i know the rp2040 is available only in qfn packages which is surface mounted and does not need through holes (apart from the vias for the ground pad). depending on your use case the usb connector is optional, usb fullspeed (12 MHz) works quite well even without good impedance matching, so you can route it off the pcb to another one, just route them as differential pair and care to keep them roughly the same length.
