It's the best tutorial for me.
I used to make caps for several months and your tutorial makes me know something that I didn't (the marble part).
I have some questions, can you please help me to answer:
1. Multishotting tutorial: we add the different color by layer right? this means you do 1st the layer for the eyes, then 2nd for teeth, 3rd for leather strap,... right? Because based on the image in your instruction, it looks like you put all the clear resin into the mod, then use the toothpick to fill the layer.
2. Multishotting tutorial: Do we need to wait until complete cured (hard) before adding another layer?
3. Marbleing tutorial: just have the question about the colors. As I see in the image, 2 part are transparent color, then you add a drop of opaque color and mix right?
4. Marbleing tutorial: And what kind of color should I use, i used to test with transparent color and it has no problem. but when I used the acrylic color or pigment I have the problem that the color is not solvent 100% to the resin. Can I have your advise here
5. The resin i made usually not hard, it still a bit soft. about 70 - 80%. I don't know the problem coming from: I try to change the mixing ratio from 3A: 1B to 2A: 1B and it not resolve the problem. I also try to mix a cup of resin, then I use apart to make key cap, another to coat on the small wood. the cast on wood is hard 100% but the keycap is still 70- 80% hard (although it comming from the same mixed resin). If you have an experience on this problem, can you advise me?

Making Stuff Together! / Making a custom alps keyboard. Need help with plate
« Last post by Weltschmerz on Fri, 28 July 2017, 01:33:30 »
Hello GH, been rolling around a bunch of different ideas in my head for a while. I've always wanted an alps keyboard, but since their isn't really an availability of modern ones off hand I'd like to make my own. I have a bunch of questions that I can't really get solid answers to. I have the manufacturing ability and connections to make anything I need (aside from a pcb, going to handwire) but am pretty lost as where to start with a plate design. I'm proficient enough in CAD that I think I could do it, I just have no existing alps keyboards to be able to base designs of. I'm thinking it would make sense to do an ANSI WKL version, and I say this based off of more normal looking keycaps (omnikey, kb101a, acer keycaps, ect) and layout being more modern.

Any resources or help would be greatly appreciated
Awesome! Thanks for the update. They are going to be anodized now?
Keyboard Keycaps / Re: Affordable blank keycaps with 1.75x shift

I know they're terrible for international shipping, but this really is the best set you can buy: (and in cherry profile)

They seem interesting. One of the reviews says they're actually dark gray, not black.

Darkest PBT caps are charcoal/anthracite color, not real black.

Blank NPKC with Cherry profile from aliexpress? ~35USD

(I bought this set on MD 1 year ago)

I still prefer my another blank set from Gateron, because the longer keys are much less warped than the NPKC ones.
Stepped Caps is very bad on NPKC.

But Gateron had no ISO support then.
As I know, now they offer ISO too.

Hey guys here for updates.

GMK1983 will be launching soon. There will be a newsletter on the website to subscribe to for big updates.

The prototype arrived today and I built it. And it's pretty awesome. The anodizing finish seems to be really good, the machine work is pretty good and it functions exactly as I hoped it to. I'm in love.

The group buy should be launching before the end of the month.

Final price point announced at the time of the launch of the group buy.

I'm not Elrick, but I have a feeling that all of these people selling their spots will eventually seriously regret selling their spots.

For me, sold spot is due to getting an FC660C, liking 65%, and being in LZ-St GB already. If I was digging a bigger layout I never would have left. It will undoubtedly be a show stopper for sure.
