Velocifire / [In Stock] Dream75 HE Pre-built Thocky Magnetic Rapid Trigger Keyboard
« Last post by john08099 on Fri, 17 January 2025, 01:16:52 »

Dream75 HE
Designed by Bat Knight Studio

Description
Dream75 is also called Dream Builder 75. Its keycap design is inspired by Nolan's classic work "Inception". 🏙️The magnetic switches developed independently by BatKnight solves the problems of fragmented sound and poor feel of previous HE keyboards. It has excellent HIFI sound quality and mechanical feel. At the same time, it also retains the characteristic design of the BK75 series, such as providing a convenient power switch function and a multi-function wrist rest. This keyboard strives to perfectly combine excellent performance and user experience. 🌌

Highlights

1. Intelligent power-off and sleep mode: The magnetic cover automatically turns off the power and enters sleep mode when closed, saving power and protecting data from accidental touches. The keyboard wakes up when the cover is opened, and enters working mode.

2. Independently developed Sky magnetic switch by BatKnight Studio: Infinitely close to the feel of a mechanical switch, stable and high-performing. (The magnetic switch uses the Hall effect principle to control the switch trigger, allowing for advanced features not possible with conventional mechanical keyboards: fast triggering, 0.01mm precision detection, DKS dynamic keystroke, and multi-stage triggering.)

3. CNC-chamfered, high-gloss aluminum magnetic cover: Removable according to preference.

4. 8000Hz polling rate, ultra-low latency, up to 0.125ms.

5. Fully customizable trigger point, RT precision of 0.01mm, high-precision adjustment.

6. Zero dead zone, with a self-developed anti-disconnection protection solution to effectively prevent disconnection.

7. Self-developed DM driver, supporting a variety of lighting effects settings, customizable lighting, as well as professional adjustment of magnetic switch RT and DKS.

8. Unique original design by Batknight: Serves as a wrist rest, dust cover, or display stand, with multiple transformations.
   (1)Protects the wrist
(2Rotatable cover can act as a dust cover to shield against dust, extending the keyboard's lifespan.
(3)Can be flipped backwards to serve as a keyboard stand, maximizing space utilization.
   (4)Easily removable.

9. High-protein leather for a premium, comfortable feel.

Interest Checks / Re: [IC] GMK Future Nights // Update on most recent post

I really hope the red line can be kept, as it can make a striking visual impact on many sets.

There is now an additional LED overlay option:  ISO 9995.  This was a special order from a while back but now it is open to the public for orders.  There are about 30 remaining of this design.

I saw on various Discords that cruel world was selling $130 CW8X on their web site?

Interest Checks / Re: [IC] GMK CYL Prussian Alert - Final Update before GB
« Last post by dvorcol on Thu, 16 January 2025, 22:41:14 »
So there's three approaches:
(A) Base kit only has alert stripe, with a separate alertless kit (current GMK Prussian Alert)
(B) Base kit has both Alert row and Alertless row (GMK LoV)
(C) Base kit has no Alert Row, with a separate Alert stripe kit (GMK Blue Alert R2)

More
Option (C) is the worst, as I agree that for sets with Alert in its title, it seems ridiculous to have the main aesthetic design that attracts people to the set to require purchase of an additional kit to meet the theme. So I don't think it's fair to accuse the designer here has done the same thing.

For people who would also run an alertless variation of the design, option (A) is more expensive than option (B). [Plus there's also a chance/risk that the Alertless kit may not meet MOQ].
However, option (B) requires a lot more keys, and makes each base kit more expensive, which makes the set less affordable to more people. For the majority of people interested in the set that would not run the alertless variation, that extra $10-15 cost is not good value, despite it being overall a cheaper option for the group that would rock the alertless variant as well.

Personally, I prefer (A) as I think the Alertless variant in this particular colourway is rather uninteresting to me, and I would never rock it (this varies from set to set), so it's just excess plastic waste that will sit in its packaging forever more (like the numpad and 40s keys in most GMK Base sets for me).

I agree with your ranking of A B C. I want to mention that there are two more approaches:

(D) Accent row only, plain row not offered:
      • DCS Lam Alert (Aug '24)
      • DCS Red Alert R4 (Aug '24)
...and many more sets that don't have "Alert" in the name

(E) Plain row only, accent row not offered:
      • GMK Blue Alert (Mar '17)
      • GMK Red Alert (Mar '15)
      • DCS Red Alert R2 (Jun '12)

(D) ignores the interests of some, so likely a percentage of sales are lost. Is it a large percentage in the current market? Use option (A) and find out if the Plain Row child kit reaches MOQ.

(E) shows that "Alert" did not originally mean "accent row." LightningXI went into more detail in GMK Blue Alert R2's IC.

A rough comparison. Note that monitors are not perfect, nor are these RGB codes.

The test bench frames cost more than cases, but in general you need to move things around in one piece even for cleaning.
