Congratz on the in my opinion successful GB!
One question, even though it‘s already too late: Would this set together with i.e. the Windows kit and a 6U GMK 9009 spacebare have fitted on a realforce 87u? Not sure about the bottom row.. If so, I would kind of regrett not joining. I thought since I don‘t have (and particullarly like) WKL keyboards, the set would be useless for me.. Just realized when it was too late, that this might have been an option :)

Windows key would have fit. GMK spacebar depends on if it's center stemmed or not

I hate these sorts of posts, but seeing as I'm always late to the party and didn't have the funds at the time, would anyone be willing to part with an OG Tulip set?  :-X

Any updates on this Hammer?

Just found out that GB failed in this announcement: http://www.geekmaker.com/index/bbs/forum_content?id=230&_wv=1031

Basically the announcement said LogicKeyboard, the company who provides the blank BSP caps stopped making them and refused to contact Hammer further.

So Hammer is making a cheaper PBT set similar to BSP called HSP with winkey, ISO, 6u, 6.25u and 7u spacebar support, and different types of homing keys.

I looked over a google translated version of the article posted above and while I’m still a bit disappointed in the fact that it won’t be BSP I’m really excited for the prospect of improved compatibility and hopefully just as smooth texture as BSP.

However, the one key size that I didn’t see mentioned that I would really, really like to see is a 1.75u R4 (shift) key. This would vastly improve the compatibility of the proposed HSP over and beyond what is pictured/mentioned in the article!

+1 for 1.75u Shift!! This would change things a lot. I also vouch for an alpha colored pipe and backslash key | \ for top row, HHKB layout.

According to the screenshots of conversation, the group buy was launched without ever getting confirmation from logickeyboards that they'd supply blank BSP keysets.

Yikes.

Not all screenshots were made public. Also, I'm pretty sure MD wouldn't launch a GB without knowing costs first.

I'm sure they weren't, but the 6 screenshots, called "key messages", indicate they never received a reply from logickeyboards until after the GB was already launched.

With the coming changes, it'd be neat to see a R4 1.75u Shift key for compatibility in HHKB layout and split Right Shift layouts.

From Massdrop:

Dear Customers,

It’s with great regret to inform you that as of this time the group-buy from BSP is cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused everyone involved.  If you are affected please take the time to read the following details of our situation and our plans moving forward.

Our intention to run a BSP group-buy to the end has always been a top priority, and we can only hope the following explanation will help to detail how this buy has failed.  In February of this year our team used a broker to develop relations with BSP Asia,  Logicalkeyboard, to provide us with blank keycaps for our group-buy projects including single 1u caps. With our brokered relationship with BSP appearing secure we proposed our first group-buy for high quality PBT dyesub reissues of classic Cherry keycaps. The reception of this group-buy was very popular and we quickly procured samples of a dyesub product through our contacts.  After posting the sample images our group-buy expanded globally.  We were encouraged by the public reception of our samples and excited to offer these high quality sets. The months which followed became a nightmare which ultimately lead us to today.

After collecting all the orders from all of our vendors globally and submitted documentation through our broker we received no response.  We began to seek further clarity and reached out to BSP, Logicalkeyboard, directly.  When direct communication was finally accomplished we were told PBT keycaps are no longer an item which can be ordered .  We really wanted to make this work for everyone - the members, Massdrop and the design of the keycaps. After all, BSP keycaps is one of the most authentic cherry sets for  keyboard enthusiasts. In the end, after long sessions of communication  our offers to increase the MOQ, and even offers to purchase the molding from Logicalkeyboard were ultimately ignored.

We feel a great deal of remorse and guilt in cancelling this group-buy.  We were unable to reissue caps or save the old  original Cherry pbt mold.  As we have come to know, BSP sublimation keycap production is very expensive outside of Europe. Changing international trade climate  high postage and tariffs between Europe to Asia makes reopening relationships impossible.  While we are apologetic we also have a plan to resolve this problem in the long term.

We are launching a new product we will call H(ammer)SP.  Our goal is to retool and improve upon the best features of what made BSP keycaps a true legacy product.  For those who wish to remain in our group buy we are offering two complete the sets of HSP for each set of BSP ordered; one set for your original order, another will be the never-sold Cyrillic or Hebrew dye-subbed set. The Hebrew and Cyrillic sets will be distributed randomly, For example, if an Arabic set was ordered a customer would receive either a Cyrillic or Hebrew set in addition to the Arabic.  The difference in between the original order and HSP is the keycaps will not be made by BSP.  We will also offer refunds for anyone in the group buy who would like it, please reach out to Massdrop Support for the refund/cancellation.

The HSP keycaps are similar to the BSP in profile, feeling, and color.  In addition to doing our best to recreate these qualities we have improved the following defects we felt were not a feature of the product:

• Normalizing R4 height to Cherry standard while retaining the BSP R5 standard.
• ISO layout support.
• WK layout support.
• 6U, 6.25U, 7U pbt spacebar support.
• A variety of four homing key molds: bars, scoops, dots and no homing.

This announcement has not come without a considerable effort from team Hammer to fix the issue before causing a problem for enthusiasts.  We have already completed the injection molding, finish, and production proofing. The performance of our manufacturing is very satisfying testers who work closely with Team Hammer.  By moving to the city which the injection factory is located we have had a hand in adjusting the fit and finish of the products coming out of our custom molds.

To be clear about our plans for production after completing our duty to existing customers we will have four sets planned for regular release: Original Tulip \ Tulip GK \ APL \ Arabic.  Our price for future group-buys will be announced soon and set a new standard for affordable quality.

Sincerely,
Team Hammer

Thanks for letting us know. Good to see that we're receiving another base set for compensation.

Another issue I can think of is the addon kits. Are they replicating those as well?

Well, they replicated the key molds already, no reason not to produce the addon sublimations.

This is good news btw. I still trust Hammer to deliver quality-wise.

(and of course I really hope for the short right shift key to be added, maybe even true HHKB support)

Hi all, it looks like HSP's group-buy has started in China. However, the renders show that there is no split backspace support. It would be very much appreciated if people could vouch and support the need for this compatibility, as it is crucial for so many layouts, especially HHKB-style.

I need to satisfy these guys first, they chose to trust me even before they saw the sample. And their money is already in my pocket.

I still trust that this will go well. I am very excited. I hope Desko could make a comeback as well. Thank you so much, Hammer!

I wasn't aware of the red side-legends. Gonna be a hard choice between this and sourcing an  IMSTO Ural set

update: most of one set is unboxed by 2 hours in. Some of the keys were apparently crooked. Legend irregularities are similar to the earlier JTK runs. "A" was thin. "G" was off. I don't know if these problems are consistent through each set.

Yeah sorry to Anthony about the crooked stems and double P, PM me if you guys suffered these issues and I will send you the replacement, as for the price, Chinese Taobao/GM gbs is 133 keys but for MD gb is 145 keys, that makes the price different.

Thanks for the clarification, Hammer.

I have a question -- will there be any extras sold in any platform? I am looking for an OG Tulip set or a Hebrew Green set.

Many of us are still waiting to receive our orders from Massdrop -- where should we report if we find any crooked stems or double/missing keys (or any other issues)? To Massdrop or to you directly?

Initial comparison with BSP Cyrillic (left) and it looks like the BSP has sharper lines/edges compared to this set.

Just got my HSP sets (Greek Tulip and Hebrew) during this week. And i got some time to test the Greek Tulip.

The surface is very textured, so that is a valuable info for those who are interested in getting those in the future.

Mine has minor crooked caps issue. What I am more concerned is the inconsistency of the legends' thickness, for example A is way thinner than M.

Received my sets and they are overall awesome!
I do have a few caps in each set (APL/Sakura) that are crooked and while APL "A" key legend looks correct the Sakura "A" does look thin compared with other legends as mentioned.  I also noticed that in APL set I received PrSc/Pause with the German front legend instead of SysRq/Break.
Hammer, will send you PM soon with overall issues once I can get all the keys mounted, thanks for taking care of the issues! :)

also did get some crooked caps and inconsistencies on the legends. Also being it too textured, the caps would just attract dirt when i put them in my cloth bag. Seems that dirt can only be removed by hard brushing it with soap and water, not really sure about this but it cant be removed by rubbing it alone.

Another thing is that led shine thru them which is weird for me compared to all the pbt caps i own.

There's something on massdrop right now, but the information is spotty and half recycled from the previous BSP drop. The Taobao groupbuy probably had more up to date info if anyone can find it

The Geekmaker/Taobao group-buy is now closed. If you want in on the R2 kits, you have to enter via Massdrop, which is now open here.

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/hammerworks-crp-pbt-dye-subbed-keycap-set

I made also a comment about Massdrop imposing some sort of "5 kit restriction" on orders. I have PM'd Hammer about this, and contacted Massdrop staff as well.

Has anyone gotten their replacement caps for the defective ones they received from R1? I'm still waiting on mine...

Does anyone here know of a way to contact hammer directly? The amount of time I've been waiting for a response or replacement caps for my defective ones is ridiculous considering he is the one who wrote that all we would have to do is send him a message of which ones are defective and that he would send new ones.

Well, some more solid information from the latest update from the drop team.

Since it seems noone has received their replacements from CRP R1 yet, perhaps the replacements are being produced within this run.

I hope this is the case, but Hammer never provided any further details regarding replacements.

This was the last I heard, in March.

"we can give you a replacement for the crooked stems! You know the old CRP have this issues so we make a new mould, we are testing the new mould these day and I do think we can solve this question."

I didn't really think about it at the time but I've heard making and testing moulds can be a pretty time consuming process. I'm hopeful this means no corrections will be needed from this round. Perhaps just a month past the projected ship date is not so bad considering..

Still waiting for round 2.

That was BSP though and shipping handled through Imsto.

Same here!! Hurray!

Yes, it was a very nice surprise this morning! I'm interested to see how this new round came out. Like others, I'm still disappointed in the lack of presence team hammer has had the past few months. It would be really nice to know if these shipments may contain corrected keys from the first run.

That sure would be nice. I still have sets needing some replacement keys.

Super annoying/disappointing that DROP alerts you that the product has been shipped and a full work week later, the package hasn't moved at all. Does DROP do this with all their products?

it's happened twice with me.  I'm guessing they make a shipping label at end of order fulfillment, but they only ship out on certain days.  So, "It's shipped" really just means, "we printed a shipping label for it"

The issue is that they didn't disclose it shipped from China. I've never had them ship like this before but it makes me question their QC process. People who purchased from TB in the states have already started getting their sets FWIW.
Matrix Abel+ Ver.Dark / Matrix 8XV2.0 (Red) / Matrix 8XV2.2 (Blue) / Matrix 8XV2.2 (Caustic Custom) / Matrix Noah / Matrix Abel X RX-178 Ver.CA / Matrix 8XV2.0 ADD (Silver) / Matrix Falcon (Nebula) / Matrix Vita (McFlurry) / Matrix ME SE (McFlurry)

What QC process?  :)) Did they complete a review by pictures? Send a delegate? Doubt it

Well, if it's coming straight from China/Hammer that would at least explain the tracking delay, my tracking was updated after a week
