Many times I have bought something solely for the purpose of "parting it out" to do something else with.

I have noticed that common-grade steel hardware has really gone up. Perhaps a combination of weight and tariffs?

You can buy a whole table and just cut the welds for cheaper than these tubes.

That tool box has been inside the plant for at least 15 year, and I work in a foundry.

Well, I was issued a Windows 10 based laptop at work for new safety the problem is I hate typing on touch screens larger than my phone. The keyboard they have me is a cheap chiclet style low profile rubber don't that feels like garbage. So, I built a small work station on the inside of the door for my tools box. Using a JD40 and a GH36. The GH36 has mouse controls so no mouse needed.

Is there an IP requirement for that machine? Looks dusty.

If possible, create a prototype or mock-up of your keyboard design. This will help you visualize your ideas and make it easier to gather feedback.

People aren't critiquing the amount of keys, they're complaining about a split bar setup that doesn't feel good to actually use.
Nobody said they did and split bar setup is obviously a personal preference. Some of us find split bars reaching further to the sides (like full one does) better to use.
I am just expressing my opinion about slamming any new layout just because it "doesn't look" the same as the boring staple. I'm sure it is not about usage but just a resistance to embrace something different.

IMO the F row modules need to extend to the width of the physical keyboard not just the width of where the keycaps go to. If you set this up as-rendered, in a 75% profile, you'll have stepped notches in both top corners of the keyboard where the F row doesn't extend to the physical sides of the rest of the keyboard which I think would look kinda weird

Otherwise, loving the concept. Can't wait to see more of it. GLWIC!
