Just a suggestion though, you should make it in either the first two designs only, preferably the simplest one (original design). If you don't seat them perfectly, those extra parts sticking out won't actually be mounted on anything. It'll make it look more sloppy. Those extra flaps won't actually do anything to hold them better.

While I do agree with what you said, why not offer the other variant(s) as well if it doesn't cost any extra? If people want them why not offer them? We also have to wait until jdcarpe has tested them to see which ones work best.

Because those flaps do absolutely nothing. They could make mounting harder, and more chance they get caught on something. If you've ever mounted stickers before, then you'll realize they don't even need to be sticky at all. They just need to fit the inner cutout so they don't move until you put the switch top cover on.

That's just my suggestion and the reason behind it. But if anyone feels they those extra flaps sticking out, then by all means get whatever you want.

The difference in price is so marginal, that it won't make any difference at all.

The only real drawback is the extra work it will add for me when sorting things out.

I have decided on this vendor for the chrome (metallic) and sparkle (holographic) sheets. They have a ton of choices for colors, as well as pricing seems to be the best from the dealers I have seen through eBay.

If you can find any dealers selling cheaper than this per sq feet including the shipping to India, it would help you and everyone else a lot!

The costs are for one sticker (Including shipping to me and plotting) is coming between $2-$3 for each sheet, but you have liberty to choose almost any color in chrome and sparkle. Only catch is since they are selling in bulk, MOQ for these colors would hover around 50 sheets per color.

Once this GB starts, I would recommend members get every damn color and style they think they could ever want or need, because this is choices galore and maybe a one time thing as we know most vendors just do not offer this many choices. And while you are at it, why not get the clear switch tops as well to show them stickers off.

Oops.  I didn't realize you needed that.  I'd be interested in some sort of red, green, orange, blue, and white.  Maybe.  I've never done stickers before, so I'm not sure.

Of course, it's still buyer's ultimate decision on which design to get. But I was just throwing it out there in case someone was choosing the design #3 not realizing there is no function difference between the simple one, and might actually be harder to install and look worst if they don't do it correctly.

I actually prefer them to not even be "stickers", so is there any practical way to get vinyl sheets without the sticky side?

Are you sure you'd want to deal with no sticky vinyl?  It's time consuming enough to align each sticker perfectly--imagine if it shifted between the time you put it on and finish lubing, and just by putting the top cover on in itself.  I was grateful that my stickers didn't shift easily once I was content with their placement.

Weight of bubble mailer = 20g
Weight of normal envelop = 7g

Price of bubble mailer = $0.2
Price of normal envelop = $0.05

It will be hard to fit another sticker sheet in the base shipping of 100g by using normal envelop as opposed to bubble mailer, the price difference is almost non existent. The CD/DVD bubble mailer should carry upto 500g easy, where as envelop won't. And the biggest reason, bubble mailer is durable and envelop is not, and I can't trust the Indian Post to handle packages properly.

changing to phantom-style plate (soldering+desoldering), lubing and stickering, I've done it all... and in my opinion, my worst experience was with stickering.

I got the final designs plotted and they came out great. Although I am skeptical about spider, since the four extra flaps (Compared to moose) can cause problems when putting on the switch top and removing it, as it is very hard to place the sticker perfect so there are no parts hanging, the margin is too small.

The plotter's accuracy was not enough for these super small tabs. So I would suggest moose as the best as it shows off maximum sticker, while having enough allowance to allow some human errors. Oh wait, we already knew that, the world works in favour of moose! 

Also got the sample pack for jdcarpe, he will be mailed the package in a day or two. The metallic stickers make faint ting sounds when bent or colliding.

I'll post pictures of the new cuts later.

Got hold of one catalog to show all the colors (Will be scanned and uploaded soon) and the plotter said that chrome and sparkle vinyl *might* be available in the local car decal market. Will check that out some time this week!

Some bad news, there might be some extra cost $1 to the base pricing, this is due to the volatility of India Rupee, EntroPay charges and fluctuation in the market. I might end up removing these fees from the total and add them later as they are applied percentage wise.

I hope it doesn't deter away potential buyers, rest assured you will be happy to receive the package and the surprise extras.

I'll be happy with the standard design (no protruding side bits)   It's troublesome enough to have all the stickers line up perfectly top-to-bottom to add the additional side bits that can look off as well.  Even when you align top-to-bottom well, just the act of closing the switch with the top housing can shift / deform the sticker a bit to throw the fit out of alignment.  It was a very slow process to get all the stickers on my 2 keyboards 95% perfect.

It should reduce some wobble, more so on PCB mounted switches, but most people do it just for looks. Here's a good explanation by nubbinator.
