recently every time I want to run a video on YT, it takes like good 40-70 secs to open a movie. I guess that's adblocker doing something, but this should not be like that! Its terrible - without adblocker, I can't stand all those adverts!

Can't find modern laptops , that are not giant g4m3r laptops that have barrel plugs.

It seems all the smaller portable tops have gone USBC.

This is not good. USBC power delivery relies on very complicated controller ICs for logic because it has to deal with different voltages and current restrictions. These burnout and are not very durable.

So, then nothing has really changed since they were introduced, n years ago, and there are no "best practices". Just a reminder/disclaimer: "Don't do what it looks like you should do" ...

I've been thinking of sandwiching a silicone mat in-between the bottom of a PCB with its sockets and a metal back-plate. The sandwich would be clamped together with a bunch of bolts with the silicone under tension. That should support the sockets from behind. I'm worrying about feel and sound qualities though.
