Ah, screw that!  Think like the Chinese do!

The Ducky symbol is completely different and genuine. Can't see any similarity to any other duck, I've ever seen

I just noticed this...is the RShift in the moogle kit different than the standard kit?

If it's centered, all caps, and with no arrow symbol, then it wont match the cherry shift keys

It is off-center, but without the arrow.

Because there are 2 different keys, they should be named:

LOTUSESC
LOTUSMOD

100 of the LOTUSMOD shuld be at least @ $3, but price can be lower.
50 of LOTUSESC are @ $3 per key.

Might it be better to add one of the backspace keys to other sets (standard/gamer/whatever)? Would there be enough of them made that the extra cost would be negligible? I know that it's probably too late for that but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Ugh... I thought it's $0.4/key if at least 25 are to be produced? I'm gonna be broke with this giveaway lol...

If it where a text-key it would be $0.4 per key if 25 are produced and even less if more are produced.

Sorry for that.

It's not your fault, don't say sorry.

So basically 1 unit key is $0.4/key if it's text, not graphics are going to be molded on?

OK, SVG is perfect!

Which colors?

You got the "Rev 2.1" SVG in my second post, right?

White lettering on red key (like the mockup that the original proposer made) is fine with me.

Archiss: post a pic, measure your space bar etc., then we will see ...

That's the same as Leopold... As far as I know, they're just the same as Cherry as well.

Regarding Leopold/Archiss/Cherry modifiers, the stems are all placed the same way: every outside stem is at 1.2cm from the center one.
+-1.2-+-1.2-+

You don't have that anywhere on your lists already, do you ?
If not, a kit to complete an ANSI tenkeyless Leopold/Archiss/ would require:
  • Left Shift
  • Right Shift
  • Backspace
  • Enter
A full-size keyboard, like also Cherry (out of compact models, IIRC) would then be completed with:
  • Numpad 0/Ins
  • Numpad Enter
  • Numpad +

I think our wiki could use a Layout+Key characteristics article so that we can have a catalog of these things to reference when needed.

OK, the order-ID will be: COMMODORE

Price: $5 if 25 are produced.

Just vote

COMMODORE 64

and get it cheaper!

Thank you thank you thank you .  I cant tell you how glad I am that this key might make it into the collection.  Please everyone (for old times sake) vote for this and make it happen.

BTW: This post is out of control and I am loving it.  Lets go for the largest single key order ever.

Just a thought but, if the Commodore key is to replace the windows key (which is an excellent idea) then I will need two of them, right?

So then we only need 13 people to order a two key kit.

If this is the case then I change my order to 2 x Commodore 64 please.

So has this been submitted to SP yet?  How come we are adding such a volume of differant random stuff at the last second?  I dont know about everyone else but I really would like to see SP get started on the order because I am guessing its going to take them a good while to produce the 20k-30k  keys we are ordering.  Then again I am just impatient and cannot wait to put these keys on my boards.

If we are going to allow the last minute stuff, then we need a list of codes for it all so that people don't get left out.

But, of course, I will accept whatever 7bit is willing to do.

Deadline for reducing/changing orders:
8th March 2011, 23:59:59 GMT!
After that deadline you can't change your votes, just add more kits or change quantities of kits which you added after the deadline.

Some of you who are in such a hurry would have missed the order all together if every target had been met.

I think we should wait until 15th January. There are still open questions I asked SP. Guess they will not work much until the first week of January.

Yes, I know, I know!

I hope I get the invoice from SP today, which contains all those kits which are currently in your invoices.

I should have gotten it yesterday, but Mrs. M. said something about a flu. Don't know what that means.

I hope she is well enough today, such that I get the invoice so we can get one step closer to our key caps!

Hurry up and order!!

The price quote for $4 per key, if 25 are produced is independent from the huge group order!

I hope I get something today which says it is even cheaper.

I'm quite sure, that most of the kits will not suddenly be more expansive.

It will be more than 30'000 keys which will be sufficient to equip more than 300 of the 101 to 105-key standard keyboards!

@iMav: Can you please add a Round 3 sub-section?

Otherwise, the Group Buys sub-section will be equivalent to Round-3-add-ons  and nobody will ever see those small and tiny, micro Group Buy threads.

7bit,  I didn't mean to come off as an *******.  Sorry if I did, I gotta commend you and Imav for having the balls to pull off such a massive order.  I didn't realalise all of the random keys in the last few days was independant of the group buy.

I hope I can send out your invoice today. Please be patient. I'm waiting for an invoice from SP about the first part of the order ...

yo 7bit,

I changed my username from dareuhl to duq and I wanted to remove my email from the email list so I stop getting getting voting results.

Can you please remove it? Because I can't PM 7bit_vote with the dareuhl username to remove it.

Thanks,
Darrel

This is how it said to pay my invoices and everything for me has gone through smooth as butter.

Please make a PayPal payment to:
iMav (herzog@uhhh.org)
Text: Round 3 # Invoice#  Geekhack username
If PayPal is not suitable for you, please contact me to find a different payment method.

So mine looked like this

Please make a PayPal payment to:
iMav (herzog@uhhh.org)
Text: Round 3 #666 Lpb45

and I copy pasted   "Round 3 #666 Lpb45"  into my header and body on my paypal payment followed by my shipping address.

Hope this helps.

I keep on getting vote result emails but my order doesn't get updated at all. I wish we had a more sophisticated method of ordering/updating orders instead of PM'ing.

  • Numpad +

^^^^
Can please someone translate this into plain 7bit-ASCII?

I'm totally at a loss what this means.

Thanks in advance.

7bit.
What are you not understanding ?

Basically, those are the keys/modifiers that are different between Filco and Archiss/Leopold/Cherry.
Filco stabilizers are *on* the keycap, when Archiss/Leopold/Cherry stabilizers are on the PCB.

Since you said the STANDARD kit is spot-on for Filco, the people with Archiss/Leopold/Cherry keyboards will need the key I listed with the sizes between stems I also provided.

Hmmm... that might not be crystal-clear either...
You know what ?
7bit, take your G80-3000, pull either one of your shift, backspace or enter keys, and look at how it plugs to the MX switch and the stabilizers: that's what I'm talking about.

They are the same except for the space bar. The stabilizers are compatible with each other.

What is the same as what ?

Filco and A/L/C modifiers are not the same, at least not the ones I have.

Or I'm missing something ?
I am yet to try prying the little plastic thingie that holds the bar out of the keycap...
Are you saying said plastic stuff is easily removable and then the key can perfectly fit on A/L/C ?

I've been wondering about that for wuite a while.

If you are talking about the two little white nubs, under the modifier keys, yes they are removable, and once removed, Filco modifier key caps are exactly the same as everything else.

The Leopold space bar remains one of its own kind, of course.

I only know keys where the stabiliser (ie that more or less thick wire) is mounted to stabiliser mounts which are in turn fit into the switch-mounts of the key.

Can please someone who is an expert (read: Ripster or Sixty) help with that?

I have no detailed figures right now, but a total sum. Now I have to calculate how much cheaper everything will be.

This may take a while.
