7bit:

I've done an interest check on a new keyboard-specific kit (custom keyboards from OTD, KBDMANIA, etc.) for the Bianco STD
and got 50 pre-orders so far.. you can check the link below.. (it's mostly in Korean, but I wrote the order numbers so u can probably figure it out)
http://www.otd.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=board1&wr_id=436539)

So here is what I propose as a "Custom-Maniac kit" (Order code is of course, up to you):

row 4 (1 unit)

new design on the way (3 keys, to support 86key winkeyless keyboards)

row 4 (1.5 units)

Alt (2 keys)
Control (2 keys)

row 4 (1.75 units)

Shift

Do you think this is plausible?
Thanks 7bit. The guys here(Korean keyboard community) are very appreciative of your work. Plus, they love the STD bianco design!

Thanks a lot!

I will add the Custom-Maniac kit. (order-ID CUSTOMKBD or whatever you like)

Is it possible to tell me which colors you want and how the keys should be labeled?

Quote from: British;410365
So only modifiers exist for row 3 ?
I suppose there won't be any possibility of having row 4 of standard keys (alphabetical) as row 3 as well, moreso for... let's say, french set ^^

For the spherical (SPH) keys this might be an option, for DCS family keys (ROUND3, RETRO, etc.) I doublt there will be any chance to do that. I better don't look at the statistics anyway ...

Quote from: British;410365

I'm not sure where to specify I want row 3, though...
Considering I might be interested in a retro blue on white set, with french kit and all-symbol modifiers (then again, with every possible row 4 key being row 3) for Archiss/Leopold/Filco, how do I do that ?

RETRO/STD
RETRO/FR

No way to specify this. It will not be available.

Also, the all-symbol modifiers might be a problem ...

If you want these, just make the SVG graphics.

Quote from: British;410365
And then... ?
How do I get a moogle kit with symbols ?
How do I specify row 3 ?
Do I need to add space bars ?

Yep! You need to choose a space bar.

Quote from: British;410365

Any chance of having the round 3 Union Jack corrected (as in fully centered and not inverted) or even replaced ?
Maybe even (yes I like to dream) as row 3, along with all the 1.25 modifiers (there may be some interest from other people that just me).

We need the SVG the otherway round. Someone should do this. I've got no time to make SVG graphics.

Quote from: British;410365
Also, that µ*<> key for french kits was neat, though flawed by that stupid 8-bar *.
Will it be available for round 4 (with correct number of bars: 5 or 6, and colors that fit at least the default ones) ?

I somehow like the 8-bar star!  But I think we can correct this. It willbe part of the FR kits.

Quote from: British;410365

On another note, I'm still puzzled at your retro layout sample...
It has (full) text for insert/home/delete/end/pageup/pagedown, instead of symbols, or at least abbreviated text (for insert/delete).
The keypad numbers are also missing the added symbols.
I'm worried about print screen/scroll lock/pause as well.

The sympols will be like those in Round 1. I was just too lazy to add those symbols. It is quite difficult to do that.

Hello,

I accidentally wrote down an incorrect e-mail for my order, so I sent another one with the fixed e-mail. Do I need to cancel my first order with wrong e-mail?

No need to cancel!

Hey guys,

please help out since I just don't exactly know how to place an order.
I would buy the following:
- SCWIN (full set of Starcraft 2 windows-keys)
- SCESC (full set of Starcraft 2 ESC-keys)

What exactly do I have to do?

It would be great if someone could explain it!

Greetings

Simon

Regarding my last post.. here is my final request:
A new keyboard-specific kit called "Custom Keyboard Kit"
composed of the following keys: (kind of a mixture of CH1800OLD and NOPPOO kit)

row 4 (1 unit)

Win (2 keys, the Windows logo)
Fn (1 key)

row 4 (1.5 units)

Alt (2 keys)
Control (2 keys)

row 4 (1.75 units)

Shift (1 key)

OK, that's much clearer!

Orders would look like this:
BIANCO/CUSTOMKBD/BLACK/WHITE
BIANCO/CUSTOMKBD/RED/WHITE
...

Hey can anyone tell me what these mean under the Starcraft section?

SCWIN 4 Starcraft 1.25 units modifiers
SCESC 4 Starcraft 1 unit function keys

What is the "unit" key and why are they being sold 4 at a time?

EDIT: Sorry, reading the Wiki it seems like SCWIN and SCESC are just all the keys for each race.

1 unit is the width of a single key (like the A-Z keys etc.)
1.25 units keys fit into the bottom row of modern keyboards with windows keys and the left Shift of ISO-layout keyboards.

SCWIN and SCESC conta all 4 keys of each size.

Ok. Forget my last question. Just tell me the following : if I order a full set  (120 keys ) does this contain german letters like "öüä.." or do i still have to get a german language Pack? Thx in advance.

Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

The FULL kit contains some extra keys to fit on different keyboards, but you still need the DE kit (or whatever language).

2 ideas just came up to my mind.
i guess i won't take care of any of those personally (advertising interest check, svg, etc), but if someone else is eager to, go for it!

so first: samurai keycap! dunno if possible to get this proper with so little space and resolution available, but who knows - esc or mod key?
second: SPACEXIAOXIAO - stickman fighting spacebar! i'd really love this, so can SP do doubleshot spacebars?
maybe use shift or other large key instead.

so, any interest? anyone going to take care of one of those?

Suggestion: « and » quotation keys.

What type of keys will the POSEXTRA kit have?

Just decide what you want. The POSEXTRA kit contains 2 units keys to fit on 2 keystems, but if you need keys with other sizes (like 1.5 or 1 unit) they could be included to that kit as well.

They are doable as << and >> which would be quite handy for C++ programming ...

It will be text. The only symbols they can do (as text) are square, diamond, triangle and circle.

You've got to order a complete kit, no keys match the Filco keys.

SCESC 6

I still don't see an automated response confirming the message. Thanks!

Was wondering if anyone had a picture of keys with White text on Red background so I could get a general idea of how it looked on a keyboard before buying WASD keys (if possible a picture of these keys on a keyboard with black keys and white text would be preferred).  Also, would a retro WASD set fit fine on a filco keyboard?

While we're at it, would this order be correct for 1 set of WASD keys and 1 of each row 1 SW key:

RETRO/WASD/WHITE/RED
IMPERIALBLACKFUN
IMPERIALWHITEFUN
REBELBLUEFUN
REBELWHITEFUN

It fits, but it will not match the key profiles of Filcos. You better get a comlete set to cover all switches of your Filco!

BTW:

I'm off for 3 weeks and there will be no update during this time.

Just continue to collect your ideas and set up new threads to support them.

Thanks, still have to decide what I want.  As far as I know there is no option for dark grey keycaps with black text, correct?
One more question, if I were to put just a few of these keycaps onto a filco board, would there be any noticable difference between these keys and the ones already on the filco.  For example, if I got a WASD (lets say retro) set from the group buy, would I notice any difference in height or drastic difference in feel?

Thanks.

Sometimes there are sleight difference between caps. It all depends. You can take a look here at ripster's thread http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?16907-G80-3000-Blue-Cherry-Back-in-the-good-ol-USA&p=373064#post373064 and if you scroll down you can find all the technical intricacies that you might be interested in; or just how it's possible for that guy to have done so much research on something no one has done before.

exact same question as above LOL I would like to mod a white filco TKL to the same key colour scheme as above so it looks like a Realforce/Model M with a combo of white and grey keys - all labelled. Not too fussy about font as long as it is uniform.
I have trawled this thread and the wiki but there doesn't seem to be a set of black on grey?
Cheers guys

Unsure of what white, as various pictures of white filcos I have seen show it as both bright white and beige, I guess I will have to get one in my hands first

humble apologies if the answer to this is obvious and already up in bold somehwere :)

Its funny, but this is exactly what I've been looking to do as well.  I ordered a White MJ2 with Blues from another group buy a few days ago, and have been poking through this forum ever since to figure it out.  I don't have the keyboard yet, so I'm waiting before I take the plunge and submit an order to the perl-bot.

My best guess given the complex ordering system is that you'd need keys from both the BIANCO and RETRO styles. The main problem in my scheme is that the fonts and styles of the printing may not be consistent between the BIANCO and RETRO styles.  BIANCO is supposed to be "Camel-Case, Off-Center" and RETRO "Came-Case, off-center (left or top-left)."  I can barely figure out all the options of the ordering system, so I'm really not sure how these keys would look on the same keyboard.

(I think, based on screen pictures, which isn't the best method, that the WA color in BIANCO will be the best white key for this purpose.  The Gray color in RETRO is too dark, I think, and so using the RETRO/WHITE color as gray is what I was thinking.  I'd be interested to know what people think.)
White Keys:
BIANCO/FUN1/BLACK/WHITE 1
BIANCO/FUN9/BLACK/WHITE 1
BIANCO/PUN/BLACK/WHITE 1
BIANCO/ALP/BLACK/WHITE 1
BIANCO/SPACE/WHITE 1

For the purpose of the gray keys, I think the RETRO/WHITE (being actually a gray shade GSL) would work.  The RETRO/GRAY shade is GQM, which seems to be a very dark gray in my opinion):
Gray Keys
RETRO/FUNT/BLACK/WHITE 1
RETRO/FUN5/BLACK/WHITE 1
RETRO/FUN13/BLACK/WHITE 1
RETRO/CUR/BLACK/WHITE 1
RETRO/MOD/BLACK/WHITE 1
RETRO/APPLE/BLACK/WHITE 1  (Yeah, I want the retro Model M look with Apple Keys)

Don't go ordering with this template, as I'm not sure if I have the order 100% correct.  I'm also not sure if the RETRO and BIANCO styles are a good fit for the same keyboard.  Also I'm not sure if the colors are exactly right for a white MJ2...  Anyway, I'm not sure about anything, so you probably should ignore this post altogether.

Love to see a kit or style that would make it easier to make a Model M clone.

Jake

thanks jake, yeah the ordering is pretty daunting, as I've never done/even seen anything like this before and of course want to get it right.

I guess the easiest way would just be to buy 2 full 87 sets and interchange them - I wouldn't be too fussy about shades of gray, I even kinda like the dark gray. WASD have full sets that are about the right colours but they're blank and I don't like blank keys

cheers

Yes indeed.  Same here.  Maybe a setup/request similar to the following will get more takers and 7bit will add to the list?  A good/memorable kit name will probably help as well...

7bit:

I've done an interest check on a new keyboard-specific kit (custom keyboards from OTD, KBDMANIA, etc.) for the Bianco STD
and got 50 pre-orders so far...

So here is what I propose as a "Custom-Maniac kit" (Order code is of course, up to you)...

==COLOR/KEYCAP SPECS GO HERE==

Do you think this is plausible?
Thanks 7bit. The guys here(Korean keyboard community) are very appreciative of your work. Plus, they love the STD bianco design!

Not a bad idea.  I would like to know which of the colors most closely matches the Filco white case.  A few people have asked and 7bit has mentioned that he doesn't have one to check.  Someone would have to get a set of swatches-- preferably someone with a large collection of keyboards that could do a lot of matching of various models and manufacturers.  (That rules me out, as I haven't even got my first MJ2 yet).

Based on images alone, the Model M's gray was really more of a "gray brown" color and the white was more of a light tan color.  From images lone, it seems like Color WAR and Color TN are the closest, but I probably don't have the best eye for color and images aren't the best to match.   Matching my Modem M keycaps to a screen is also kind of futile.  Even still, these colors might not look the best on a Filco white board.  It might be some other pair of colors that accomplishes the "Model M look" yet matches the white Filco case aesthetically.

Well, the wiki says:

- Send a message to: 7bit_r4
- Please don't ask 7bit_r4 any questions!
- 7bit_r4 is more or less a Perl script, no human person, which will never answer any questions!
- All your messages will be evaluated automatically!

I assert that a perl script doesn't go on vacation. :P

I was wondering if someone would help me out understand how to place an order?

I basically want a 37 key set A-Z, punctuation to the right of A-Z and arrows. White keys with black letters.

So i have this:
BIANCO/ALP/BLACK

But i dont know which kit i need to get. Theres a ALP one that says A-Z but its only 28 keys.
Thanks

Just to clarify, under bianco it says:

Quote
White (WA) on Brown (TGH) (color code: WHITE/BROWN)

Is that for the whole set, or only certain keys?

I ask because this is on the way, and I'd love to have some brown keys:
