To be fair, the wiki isn't that impossible.

Retro is even featured in the opening post...

Congratulations to the 1111th post.
There was no contest, but you are the winner!

Woohoo!  A deadline.

Now I guess I need to start figuring this out.

I want an Awesome key but am confused about the color/style of key options.

And yes I DID try reading the wiki.

Can anyone explain (or put it in the Wiki?).

Oh wait... it's starting to sink in.  I think I want this but with a Awesome face and in Cherry MX.
(Attachment Link) 30099[/ATTACH]

Now I need to figure out how to order.  And what Retro is.

Maybe this is helpful:

NOIR/AWESOME/BLACK/YELLOW....38
NOIR/AWESOME/YELLOW/BLACK.....7
NOIR/AWESOMEMOD/YELLOW/BLACK..6
ROUND3/AWESOME/ORANGE.........6
RETRO/AWESOME/YELLOW/GREY.....5
DARK/AWESOME/ORANGE...........4
DARK/AWESOME/YELLOW...........3
ROUND3/AWESOME................3
NOIR/AWESOMEMOD/BLACK/YELLOW..2
RETRO/AWESOME/RED.............1
ROUND3/AWESOMEMOD.............1

If you want to order the most popular Awesome face, just write 7bit_R4 a message with the content:
NOIR/AWESOME/BLACK/YELLOW 25

You will get 25 Awesome faces in NN black on YY yellow.

This is RETRO-style:

This is what you have to send to 7bit_R4:

RETRO/STANDARD
RETRO/SPACE
RETRO/RGBY
RETRO/GAMER

OK, I add just plain

AWESOME

which will be black on yellow, SA-family, row 3.

Is that OK?

Starting price will be $2 per key.

Originally there was SPH/AWESOME/* but almost nobody wanted sphericals!

I'm serious!

All available styles are DCS family.
Just look at the picture:

^^^ RETRO/STANDARD

ps: maybe I should set up a wiki with the title:

Round four 4 Dummies!

Things are shaping up nicely.

Whatever happened with that? Maybe a bit late and maybe not the very best thing to add a completely new set but just curious.

Isn't that handmade? I remember somone saying it was. There's supposed to be like two or something.

I'm surprised noir has that many orders already.

Also, if no style has 25 by the 30`th are you going to cancel the groupbuy? Oh no!

This could easily happen:
You need to find a German plastics supplier.
Or at least one which has got ABS in RAL colors. The American colors SP uses don't match and never will!

We could do something similar, but SP has no violet in their repertoire.

It was some limited series. I'm not sure how many exist.

Sure I will cancel everything, so you better make sure to get more stuff on you list!

The language kits contain only keys for the main-keyboard area. The only non-1unit keys these kits contain, are J-shape Return and 1.25 units left Shift.

To get a comma for the numpad you need to order the Numeric kit:

I have been AFK for a while and was wondering if there was any update on when the missing and incorrect keys from round 3 will be replaced?

Like most I was waiting on correct Caps Lock Keys, and also a missing SYSBLUE key.

I can also report that using the keycaps from round three, I have found them to be really good quality and seem to be holding up well to a daily bashing.

Hi 7bit,

I'm very interested in participating in this group buy. However, like many people around here, I've held off making a decision because I'm slightly confused by the huge number of options available, and the way they interact with one another. I'm afraid of making a mistake and ordering a set with a vital key missing. So it might be easier to just indicate what I'm after.

I've just been trawling through the thread on the round three group buy, and this picture caught my eye:

Can you tell me whether a set like this (i.e. same font and colours) for a G80-1800 will be available in a UK ISO layout as part of round four?

To me it looks almost perfect. I particularly like the large centered white lettering on the dark grey background. Very understated and classy. It gives the keyboard a 1970s Unix terminal feel, and that's exactly what I'm aiming for.

Ideally I'd also like the keycaps to be spherical, but if that's asking for too much them I'd settle for cylindrical.

They are somehow tied together (same label design and same background color).

However, it could happen that most of the black n very dark grey kits will not hapen, because there are too few orders.

This could cause that people who want a TENKLESS kit must take a STANDARD kit.

You are very, very welcome!!!
You need
ROUND3/STANDARD
ROUND3/UK
ROUND3/SPACE??? <--- I'm unsure which space you need.

It looks like 7 units, but there are 2 versions.
SPACEOLD 7 units, 133mm wide, 3 keymounts, 57mm apart
SPACEPOS 7 units, 133mm wide, 3 keymounts, 57mm and 42.8mm apart

You find all the keys, except for the UK-layout, in the STANDARD kit:

Spherical may be available in Round 5 or a separate spherical group buy in the nearer future ...

The CH1800 does not exist anymore. You should clear your browser cache once a week at least!

TERMINAL is for those big keyboards and POS fetishists
STANDARD everything with a numpad, even if it is a 19" keyboard.
TENKLESS is for the numpad-less keyboards (almost any of them).
TKL is only for Filco or Cherry, if you removed the numpad by yourself.

You mean the Gamer kit, right?

Now I remember that there is some histo

The French gamer who wanted it used ESDF instead of ZQSD !

Oh thank you so much for that notice, you saved me a hearth attack...

I'll take one Round 3 set, but different modifiers and spaces, have to figure everything out yet. Another set if the price is down.

Two questions I have:

Is the SPACELEO sure thing?
Are german Umlaut-dots corrected in the Round 3 style (they looked a bit drunken in the Round 3)?

Are german Umlaut-dots corrected in the Round 3 style (they looked a bit drunken in the Round 3)?

Yes and mayby SPACELEO==SPACE.
Don't know abount drunken umlaut dots. can you show me a sample how they looked and how they used to look?

You are very, very welcome!!!
You need
ROUND3/STANDARD
ROUND3/UK
ROUND3/SPACE??? <--- I'm unsure which space you need.

It looks like 7 units, but there are 2 versions.
SPACEOLD 7 units, 133mm wide, 3 keymounts, 57mm apart
SPACEPOS 7 units, 133mm wide, 3 keymounts, 57mm and 42.8mm apart

You find all the keys, except for the UK-layout, in the STANDARD kit:
Show Image

Spherical may be available in Round 5 or a separate spherical group buy in the nearer future ...

I'm more confused than ever!

Are you sure that the standard kit above has all the necessary keys for the version of the G80-1800 that has Windows keys?

I should point out that I don't actually own a G80-1800 yet. I'm hoping to buy a few from a German recycling company over the next few weeks. However, I do own a G81-1800 (with Windows keys) and I'm assuming the layout is the same.

The seven keys on the bottom row of my G81-1800 (2*CTRL, 2*ALT, 3*Windows) are all one unit wide. However, I don't see those keys on your diagram.

With regards to the space bar, the one on my G81-1800 is approximately 113mm wide and has a metal stabiliser. Does the G80-1800 use the same design? I had no idea there were so many different space bars.

7bit, the new invoice has my white spacebar RETRO/SPACE/WHITE removed.  Does RETRO/TENKLESS now come with a white spacebar?  I want a white spacebar to match with the RETRO kit.  What do I need to do?  Thanks.

All these modern-retro looking schemes are ok if people want them, but it'd be shame to not have a real retro (IBM or Cherry) like we spoke before.

I clicked on the Dummies option and still couldn't figure out the Awesome/LOD options.

How about Round 4 4 Morons?

It is a work in progress and I did not yet finish it.

Please be patient!

Sorry, but I do not support G81 keyboards!

Help yourself with the space bars:

It might be the 6 units one.

Try
RETRO/SPACE

When I see the 6.25 units space bar which fits on almost all keyboards with my own eyes and it really fits, I will add it to the standard and tenkless kits.

I asked earlier since both my spacebars were removed. He said there might be a hybrid and it would be included. Don't know the status of it yet tho.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

I f([[:alpha:]]{3})ed it up a bit. Just order RETRO/SPACE, or wait until we know that space bar really exist.

Well according to the picture on the German recycler's site (link) the G80-1800s also have single unit wide keys on the bottom row.

The keyboard shown in the link has keys that are exactly the same shape as the ones on my G81-1800 (except that mine has a UK layout).

Yeah I'm going to add it just in case. I'm really thinking of removing the novelty keys I have and adding a group buy 3 tenkeyless set instead.

I have already ordered two sets from this buy (ROUND3 and NOIR), but would also be interested in black on ivory/beige if you offer that in a future group buy.

My favourite loadig bar. I've always been partial to the loading information presented as text.

Also, I think before just dropping one, you can have an elimination, where people can confer as to whether they'd prefer dark or dark/orange, then we combine into a single one (and drop the few who'd rather not) and be off!

It seems the only way out of this is to get a MODIKIER kit.
ie one of:

ROUND3/MODIFIER
RETRO/MODIFIER
NOIR/MODIFIER
DARK/MODIFIER
DARK/MODIFIER/ORANGE

OK, notoed down. I will see how many people want this and add it if there is some demand for it for at least 25 sets.

Since the kit I wanted probably won't be put in due to lower demand (Blanco or whatever it was called), what would I need to order to get:

Black keys with white font (Centered if possible)
Red 'Esc' key (White font if poss.)
RGB keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift)
Red WASD keys (Again, white font if possible)

Also, I want the keys to be UK ISO layout for a Filco Majestouch.
