Thanks for the fast answer I hope I will get all keys I want :)

@7bit: will the DE-Layout for RETRO and DARK get the @ at the Q, the € at the € and the µ at the M ? I hope it really :)

In Retro, these will all have these weird symbols on them.
Dark: If it does not get more orders, it will die right on the deadline!

I can give you a PDP, PostScript, DVI, TeX, or source file of them.
But what do you mean with 'more easily reverse-engineered'?

Ah, I just went ahead and typed in the set labels. My intent is to generate individual key image objects that I can shuffle around in some editor, in order to plan out which sets I should order for my project keyboards. There are too many combinations to keep straight in my head.

This should get some more advertising, I'd guess many would want this, sadly there are almost no orders for it. :/

And is there a difference between dark/space and dark/space/orange?

DARK/SPACE comes in very dark grey (GX) and
DARK/SPACE/ORANGE in very bright orange (OAS).

Did a whole bunch of orders just disappear? Do the small quantities for the additional keys in TENKEYLESS and TERMINAL matter? And does anyone know what's going on with things like the Row 1 BACK SPACE, which are shown as unavailable in Signature's SA listing?

(a) I've tricked \KL to order 25x TENKEYLESS instead of just 1.
(b) I've thrown out slueth's support of 25x TKL because I'm quite confident we will reach the minimum of 25 without that.

Yes, I informed about that, but I don't think that there is too much of a problem with using row 3 modifiers instead if row 1, 2 or 4. The regular keys are more exposed, so orientation on the keyboard is easier.

The keys of different rows differ in a different way than they differ in that different cylindircal key family, which is available in different colors than the SA family, which differs significantly compared to DCS family.

I'm curious.  What exactly happens at 50K?  We all get a free key or something?  Usually Signature Plastics just prices it - Cost = Setup Cost + Units X Price Steps By Individual Key Quantity.

I place the order and people will get a lot of extras (like national layouts, DVORAK,COLEMAK or POS stuff) which otherwise would only be possible at prohibitive costs!

That, to be blunt, will look like crap. IMO it would be better to either (a) make them all row 3 and remove any duplicates that arise there, or (b) substitute or add smaller available keys of the correct row, along the lines of what is apparently planned for Return, i.e. a 1.75u Backspace, 2u Shift, and 1u for other modifiers. The former would make Dvorak/Colemak users happy; I'd personally prefer the latter.

7bit, can you clarify something for me.

On your keyboard diagrams, the bottom two rows are both marked as row 4. Presumably that means that the keycaps on those two rows are all supposed to be the same height. However, as an experiment, I tried swapping the keycaps on my G81-1800 with the keycaps on a very old (probably made about 1990) G80-3000. I've noticed that the lowest row of my G80-3000 has keycaps that are significantly higher than those on the lowest row of the G81-1800. Is this true of all G80-3000 keyboards or is it just because my board is very old? If it's the former then your diagrams will need to be altered.

I don''t see a problem with curved 1 unit keys and row 3 modifiers.
Again, they are not the same as cylindricals. It would not work with cylindricals this way, but does with the sphericals. Look at the Space Cadet keyboard. Look at the roman numeral keys and the pointing hands. Compare these with the regular 1 unit keys of the main key field. Look at the 2 units keys.

Theb older key caps are indeed different in row 4 and 5. Modern Cherry and SP key caps don't have a row 5 profile.

The 1.75u or 1.5u (not sure on it's size) shift in the RGB kit fits a SS 6Gv2, correct? Also, is there a |\ key and enter key (I think LRET) for the 6Gv2 available?

I'm slowly understanding the various kits... and practicing ordering...haha...
But there's one thing that is not clear... what does a GLIDER key look like? I don't see a picture in the wiki.

Oh, and also, when I want to order the default SPACEPOS for RETRO and DARK, is the following format correct?
RETRO/SPACEPOS
DARK/SPACEPOS
Or do I have to always specify the color like this:
RETRO/SPACEPOS/WHITE
DARK/SPACEPOS/DARKGREY

No need to specify color if you keep it to the default choice. But I guess both would work anyway.

IF you mean the 1.25 units left Shift, then just measure the SS 6Gv2's left Shift to see yourself.
Yes and yes.

Just look into the Wiki.

Geez, thanks for the nice response. Very kind and helpful of you.
After looking it up, I certainly don't want to know.
For dummies like me, a Glider is definitely not some sort of a hang glider.. lol
After reading a long-ass article, I've summarized it as the following: a Glider is a picture of 5 dots on a grid. Nothing more, nothing less. lol (Attachment Link) 31325[/ATTACH]

For a Cherry it is SPACE (except it is the version without Windows keys ....).

I don't know about the other. Can't people just remove their space bar and check for themselves?

I can't do that because I don't own these keyboards!

Don't say that!

@Soulfree
The "Glider" is the hacker emblem, but since most people get "hacker" confused nowadays it's normally not polite to mention it. This way, confusion is avoided (normally it goes like this: me:"I'm a hacker" person:"you break into banks and steal my money??")

I'd recommend looking it up on the jargon file maintainer's website. Even if you don't agree to display the logo, it's good to know what it stands for. I found it very interesting at first, now it's on my resume.

http://catb.org/hacker-emblem/

I only really rarely see other people displaying it though. I wouldn't get one unless you agree with all the philosophy, and understand the history that's attached to it. (To prevent confusion, once again.)

But if you agree with it, then it's a good emblem to associate with.

I think the Commit is wrong or? It should be 2 unit row 1 back space key or did I understand something wrong?

Thanks! I will fix it!

Don't say that!

@Soulfree

Wow, some profound stuff! I'm only here for keycaps but that makes me interested. I'll at least check the link out. Thanks!

The DARK/ORANGE set has made it, great news :)
I don't mean to disappoint you but shouldn't the count be lowered due to the copyright issues for the sc / star wars caps ?

Tell him to rip off his space bar and measure the distances of the key mounts.

From the pictures, it seems to be a 6.25 units space bar and chances are high, the universal space bar will fit. There is no other choice anyway!

Tell them Filcop key caps are crap and only put on by the manufacturer to protect the switches during transportation to the customer.

even the "for dummies" page is way too complicated for me. can we get a simple pictorial page or a set of straightforward directions for busy people?

Might be a very stupid question but this is the final product for standard retro kit, right?
