No, I think it should have been $99 like the first batches of Leopolds earlier this year...
But even at the 25% premium you suggested, they would sell just fine to GH...

Hey I can still order the white tenkeyless with clears, are you sure it was not just an error you had? Might want to try again.

I dont get it though, they are pre-orders ffs, how do you run out on a pre-order? The whole point of the pre-order is that it lets you gaurantee you have enough time to meet demand....

If you prefer to use the clear board, you could always just switch the cases/caps with your red, so you have a white otaku with clears. This would void the warrenty though, since you would have to break that little seal.

yup, keycaps are gonna get swapped eventually if you keep a board long enough anyway.

Two questions:  will really old windowed Cherry keys replace Leopold keys (caps lock etc.) or is there a good home mod for replicating those (round Lexan rod?)  Also, is the spacing on the space bar posts the same as a Choc Pro or is it different yet?  (I now have one space bar with six posts on it...)

Not that it makes any difference to a purchasing decision; I already ordered one (black/clears) last night.  I think that was less money than I paid for the Filco which I then had to mod with the stems and springs from a POS board.  Not sure if I'll like tenkeyless, but only one way to find out.

I officially dub these new Leopolds the "Geekhack limited/custom keyboards". Because, a tenkeyless Leopold with reds or clears was the original idea for the Geekhack custom keyboard. EK kind of killed the idea though.

Now we know why.

Hi.  I'm new.

Been researching/searching for a good replacment board for the past couple of weeks.  Blindly went ahead and ordered a tenkeyless in reds from EK.  No issues with payment so far, so I assume now the wait begins.

Haven't bought a "new" mech keyboard in awhile.  Still have an M13 in my pile, but it's gotten harder with Win7 to get around not having a win key on a daily basis.  Same for a trusty old AT-101 I managed to grab from a previous job.  Really wish there were a way to sample the various switches in a local manner, but whatevo.  Returned a Razer BWU this week... mainly because the left side macro row really threw off my touch typing... guess I'm used to my pinky being on the outside of the keybank, which with the BWU turns "A"s into caps lock and a nonstop expletive stream coming out of my office as a result.  That and I think I'd drive myself insane eventually with the clicks... not as cool as they were when I couldn't type as fast as I do now I think.

Tempted to order a Filco tenkeyless brown in addition since I haven't felt up anything of that flavor yet....

Have you done this?  How do you do it?  I'm imagining drilling the hole, then putting a piece of tape (what kind) on the top of the keycap and dripping the epoxy in from underneath, with the cap upside down on a flat surface.  Is that the correct procedure?  Any recommendations for particular brands/types of tape and epoxy?

Haven't done it myself on keycaps, but I've seen pics of it here or at deskthority and have done it in aluminum panels.  Some have used putty, others tape, I'd go with a nice painters tape.  Drill a nice clean hole, chamfer the edges a bit.  Put the tape on the top side of the cap, burnish the tape against the cap around the hole.  Fill with clear hardening 2 part epoxy.  I have whatever random brand was sold by the hobby shop I was getting other stuff from.

Anyone else want to confirm this?  I just tried ordering a white clear keyboard and now it is letting me order it again?  Did they extend purchasing?

Nope looks like its available again.. ordered it. Figured worse case EK cancels my order.

If not will cancel the black one I ordered previously....

For some reason shipping to europe is more expensive than shipping anywhere else, I guess its to keep people paying the premium for high labor costs on things made there.

The Cherry Corp style stabilizers totally didn't work for me. The larger keys, most specifically right shift and backspace, felt mushy and actually caused me some tendon pain after a while because of the lack of crisp actuation. I'm hoping that this is much less of an issue with non-clicky keys. I'm kind of hoping that this board works out as a traveling SC2 board or something.

Damn, I really wish they sold full-sized white's. I think I would buy one of those in a heartbeat. I'm getting a filco tenkeyless from Qtan, so this will be my first chance to see how tenkeyless feels/looks. Too bad they don't plan on any full-sized white's anytime soon.
