I still have yet to try any Mikkeller. It's relatively new around here and only one store stock it... and it is stupid expensive. It more expensive for 333ml of that than it is for 700ml Delerium Tremens around here. I just haven't been able to justify it even though I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Hmm well it beats the cheap cm crap I've been using  :( 4-5 months and the thermal paste turns to clay. Giving AS5 a go as recommended by a friend and I've read reviews and they said it's pretty good. anyways, I just got the 3.5g tube, so not really that expensive and I'd prolly gonna reapply it again. I think I've applied a little too much  ^-^ :))

Pretty much anything that's not silicone based since modern TIMs don't require a burn in like AS5, but you can't beat Innovation Cooling Diamond 7 for the price.  Just be aware that it's mildly abrasive since it has diamond particulate suspended in it.  Phobya HeGrease/Gelid GC-Extreme and Prolimatech PK-1 are also toward the top in performance and aren't too expensive.  If you want the best and are willing to work with the hassle and don't have a CLC, waterblock,  or heatsink with a round plate and don't have an HDT style heatsink, Indigo Xtreme/Maingear Epic T1000 is the way to go.

After that it's Arctic Cooling MX-2 or MX-4, Tuniq TX-2 or TX4, Noctua NT-H1, Prolimatech PK-2 or PK-3, Shin Etsu X23-7783D, or Arctic Silver Ceramique.  In some uses, Coollaboratory Liquid Metal is also awesome.

Considering the abuse it gets put through while in use and it still can last 5-10 years, I think I am pretty safe.  :)

I got the big tube because for a while there I was fixing all my friends laptops that were overheating and dying.  iFixIt FTW!!!  :)

How do you like it?  It seems to be kind of a polarizing thing.  Some people love them and I've seen others who say it's cheap and they're unimpressed with it.

it DOES feel cheap. my friend has one and on the first drop it broke. i've dropped mine a couple of times and it's still kicking. i sadly can't put my car keys in it because it's way too expensive (stupid chipped keys). i keep my house keys in it, still have room for 3 more.

i wish there was a way to integrate a keyless remote into it. then it would be perfect. right now i keep my car key/remote on the same key ring as my keyport.

minimum is like 90 to program it. it's crazy. you can get the actual key for cheap (well, like 30) online. the problem is finding a place to program it without bending you over.

what does 'programming' it mean?

i thought the flow was:

*take pic of keys
*they make copies and install it into the thing for you
*you get it in the mail
*take a pic of another key and then get a copy from them
*disassemble main unit and insert new key and then done

?

certain car keys have chips in them. when inserted into the ignition, it recognizes the chip and lets you turn on the car.

nothing to do with the keyport.

although you CAN get a car key and chip. but that takes up 2 ports. and it's still expensive. but we're just complaining how expensive car keys with chips are.

It actually does take some time to do. The dude did it in front of my dads auto body shop and it took him a good hour to do in his shady ass van.

well unless you have w/e the hell they use to program it, you're SOL and have to go through them. dealer charges like 150 per key.

Received a Bulgarian Alps keyboard with doubleshots. I was hoping they were tripleshots but I don't see any fading on any of the padprinting of the red legends.
I intend to use the main keys on a Matias later.

Fake Alps though. Feels a bit rattly and the housing says AA-01 and AA-16 etc.

Did you randomly meet Ivan on the street?  :p
That's what I thought too. :))

I really like those caps. What's the exact name and model of the keyboard?
My thoughts exactly. ;)
I got it from this guy on eBay.
There is no brand or anything on the case, just FFC ID HUE292. Made in Taiwan.
Google turns up nothing.

LZ-FE finally arrived in a pretty shoddy box, but was bubble-wrapped fairly well.

Profile shot to comparison with Hammer's case, both are heavy as hell and sturdy... kind of regret not mixing it up with something lighter this time around

Is that bottom white, or silver?

Amazing looking case regardless.

White balance fail! Bottom is supposed to be silver / stainless-steel
