Did the previous owner swap out the entire switches via soldering or just the guts? Do they have the longer switchplates?
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

I believe the entire switches were swapped out.  The zero came stock with XMs and if you look at the switch housing it's of a complicated ALPS switch, not an XM switch.

You can swap the top of the housing in/out with other ALPS without changing the switchplate, iirc. Either way, it is a board that I want. :P Congrats. :D

Cool.

And keep the plastic shield - it is great for keeping the dust off your precious, and it doesn't have a gap on either side like some roofs do.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
