Are they that much of an upgrade from the DT770/A900X?

definitely. don't get me wrong, i love dt770s, but these... these are on a diff level. even with low volume the bass is ridic.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

Hmmm. True. I don't really have bass heavy sets (my bass sets are M50 and A900X) because I'm not much of a bass head... Might have to invest one in the future.. Gaining some interest in warm headsets.. I tend to prefer bright and sparkly (AD900X is sex).

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Can anyone see that YouTube link in the post above?

I'm quoting myself so the link appears, but all I can see is a big blank space, no preview.

Pictures, don't just tease!
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Got some parts from GON to build my modified ISO 60%. Grave / tilde is just FN + pipe / backslash, to avoid needing a smaller left shift.

Switches are clears with stickers and 55g springs. I realized too late that the 55g rating is apparently bottom out force for a linear switch, so my stabilized keys would stick with clear stems. Had to replace those with stock MX clear switches, but they don't feel a whole lot different which is good. The plate is GON's universal 60% plate, and the PCB an Alt60. I'm also using the newest design Tex case from Massdrop, with aluminum feet.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, despite not having enough modifiers to get exactly what I wanted. The compose key acts as Menu, but it is being used with FreeCompose.

These red things.

Supposedly they prevent the top part of the switch housings from sliding around.

Supposedly they prevent the top part of the switch housings from sliding around.

They are made of vinyl, so they have the effect of damping any switch housing movement. I haven't compared typing on them versus typing on non-stickered clears, but I can definitely see a reduction in housing movement when comparing the switches themselves side by side.
