I'm pretty happy with the purchase. It's a little beat-up as it is right now and it will take some work to fix up properly and then I'll have to work quite a bit to make it functional with modern PC's. The Error key to the right of the space bar needs a new spring I think; or to be reseated. Also there are a couple of number keys that are bent off center (you can kinda see it in the photo). I'm not too sure how difficult that is to fix but I'm betting it'll be a process. Also I'm not sure if the sticker at the top is OEM. I'm thinking it is an I need to find a good way to preserve it.

I'm sorry I'm not a photographer.  I promise I will eventually get a nice camera and learn how take nice pics.

I am truly really impressed with this.  So much so I probably won't even take it out of the baggie.  The level of detail on this is awesome.  I didn't expect it.   Look at the ears.  I even considered getting a Filco Camo TKL just to match it.

Yeah it usually goes something like:  "Yeah so there's this forum on the internet about keyboards and um there are these highly sought after keycaps..."  Then I kinda get into how much I've spent.  Most people don't get it.

Considering some ~$10k totals I've seen on OCN build logs of decked out watercooled systems, $500 keyboards and $200 novelty caps are just pocket money :)

But that's a computer. These are just peripherals. Not to mention peripherals you only use one of at a time.

Yeah, it's kind of crappy for any grip and the sniper button is located poorly.  It's not really a great mouse, but it's Corsair branded, so people eat it up.

How is the feel of the keystroke compared to buckling spring?

But peripherals don't get outdated near as fast as PC hardware.  And when a peripherals fails it doesn't have the chance of taking the rest of the system with it like water or more exotic cooling setups.

A computer you have to rebuild every year or two to keep up with the latest technology / trends.

Ring ones may damage/scratch your keycaps. Wire ones has better control, easier to take the caps out too, at least for me.

Why are wire ones better than ring ones?

The wire ones don't really come into contact with the keycap except from the bottom. The ring ones, as you push down before it hooks itself is rubbing up on the sides of the keycap. It may not scratch all the time but sooner or later it will. From my experience using both.

I got the tiny plastic circle one that doesnt bend and you have one size to pull. I got the wire one from WASD and you can bend it as wide as you like take out the wide keys like enter and backspace and it wont scratch the keys at all. love it.

Imagine the horror... :'(

As durable as the caps on my Shine 2 have been -- knocks on wood -- I prefer not to use the ring type puller.
