I got my order in from MorbidStix.

It my KUL ES-87 case with a wood grain finish.  I selected Toasted Rosewood, and it came with a nice clear coat on top.  I chose the color which best matched my inspiration photos 1, 2, 3.

The MorbidStix folks were nice.  I requested that the grain go a certain direction, and they were more than happy to do things that way.  I would recommend them if anyone would like to take a shot at hydrodipping their keyboard.

I'm sure some of you lot might be thinking to yourself, "why on earth would someone get woodgrain for something modern, like a new TKL?"  I invite you to feast your eyes on the 1976 Woody

Oh lawd, it looks so sexy.  Nothing says the '70s like a wood paneling veneer to accent all that delicious brown.

That looks amazing.   :thumb:

A Model F PC/AT

Really lovely board to type on - it's going to take a while I think to get used to the spacebar being quite considerably heavier than the rest of the keys but overall it's magnificent :)

Also - round 3 black on black :)

Good day today!  :D

From top left-right

  • Ducky City Spacebars (picked up the Bangkok/Kuala Lumpur ones)
  • RGB Buckling Spring mods (from unicomp, these were actually supposed to be the WASD kit in red, but they goofed. I'm not complaining :))
  • Unicomp Spacebar (fits weirdly on one of my Model M's, not sure why...)
  • GeekHack and a blank orange BS key
  • Gasmask G2 smoke
  • MK exclusive Raven

Wish I had more mail days like this  :))

Not great tbh...

I think the bag it was sat it for 10+ years degraded and gooped up the case; it kind of feels like there was foam stuck to it and the foam has been pulled off, leaving the glue and some foam residue....The whole unit and the inside of the bag is covered in the same ****. The board works fine and the caps are really nice, it's just the case that looks and feels terrible. I'm going to try a clean up when I get a bit more time.

The ANSI board is really good condition though, aside from a bit of dust it looks like it's never been used.

The price I got the pair for though, I can't really complain :D.

Knocked another one off my Cherry 'bucket list', a G80 board with bitshift layout!
Rohde & Schwarz Cherry G80-0774

More

Near mint condition, asides from the chip on the upper left corner it's like new. Perfect condition Cherry doubleshots with many interesting keys and legends on plate mounted MX blacks. Lock leds appear to be orange. Top case bezel is metal, with some kind of 'engineered' bottom tray. Sadly, it's another keyboard with a weird connector in my collection making it impossible to use without heavy mods... of which I wouldn't even know where to start with it's 3 wire phono jack connector.

Perhaps? I suppose if a customer kept asking for a particular model they were happy to keep making it for them... I'm pretty sure that is a custom order model for R&S. But also, I am not sure what system Cherry was using for date codes from '84-'88 as I don't know of anywhere that has that info available. It's also quite possible it's from somewhere in that range?
The thing above the numpad is a rotary, I suppose it was used in place of a cursor as it has led indicators for left/right and up/down.

that model f is gorgeous congrats

Cheers :)  It could do with a very good clean but everything works exactly as it should (even using the AT-PS2 adapter plugged into my PS2-USB adapter)  Considering that it's nearing its 30th birthday (manufacturing date 31-07-1985 - only 2 just months younger than me actually) it's really in exceptional nick, probably doing better than I am haha

Are the switches very smooth? Should be a good indicator of whether it's 1995 or around 84-88.

Congrats, IvanLysol!

I'd love to see the rest of the "bucket list". But perhaps you keep that on the hush to crush the competition.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

Yep, they are smooth as butter and have the extra large logo as the older ones do. I just noticed that it has no homing indicators of any kind on the F J keys too, only the 5 on the numpad has one. Kind of odd.

My list is pretty small these days actually. I have most of the key boards I wanted now. Really the only things I keep an eye out are language layouts I don't have in doubleshots, and don't really care about which models they are on. Or, otherwise if I stumble upon something interesting I may pick it up if it has a sane price.

Got my Twsbi mini from demik today, It's fantastic! I just need to get some better paper.

Some pictured terrible hand writing. Soon to improve.  :)

*My handwriting is not normally this bad, my first time using a fountain pen and wasn't placing the nib quite right.
This writing is hilarious. I hear it's actually quite difficult to write like a child.
