whats wrong with the left ctrl on the realforce?
it uses this gimpy rotated slider so that they could fit the LED in. iirc its base is thinner so it winds up sitting up higher.

A led on the left ctrl? Why?

Probably for swapping caps and ctrl. I have an LED in the L-ctrl position on my SSK for just that reason.

PPL have their reasons i guess, i myself would have just kept the led in the same place and rebind the button.

CNC drills?

Get that man a prize!

I just wish my weekend wasn't so busy, or the chips would be flying! :)

Please....PLEASE post pictures or a video of your CNC mill in action.

Hahaha, I knew at least you would like it! I'll be starting a thread in making stuff together as soon as I start going. It's a Shapeoko 3 (I pre-ordered the sucker in March and got it in July) and let me tell you this sucker is rigid for a hobby grade cnc. The aluminum extrusions are pretty darn impressive and the important bits are steel so it should be good. I know matt3o picked up a chinese 3040 last year and had some good success with it, and this should flex quite a bit less than his and stock has a square 16"x16" cutting area. If I use it enough I'll also look into upgrading the cutting area.

I just finished tensioning my belts last night, so all that's left is to hello world the sucker (drawing with a sharpie), and then calibrate for belt stretch.

Here's a video of a stock machine tearing through some aluminum.

I totally need to get some prescription safety glasses... but oh the price!

What are you making?

My list of justifications projects is pretty long. First up will be some more simple keyboard projects out of wood: I have an AEKII that's going to get pulled down to a 60%. Also want to do some plastics work -- machinable polycarbonate would be fun.

The big reason I got it though is to do electronics projects and in particular be able to isolation route pcbs one-off designs. Between the cnc and 3d printer I should be able to do them for an actual affordable price -- and not wait weeks.

After I get comfortable with the machine I plan to replace the spoil board with hdpe so I can start machining aluminum and brass  (mdf and machining fluid is not the best combo).

Got a PNY Elite Performance 64GB SDXC Card today.  It's hard to say I'm disappointed since I got it for $20 off of Newegg, but I am a little disappointed since I got a better performing Samsung Pro 64GB off of Amazon for the same price.

It's supposed to be a huge tower but as it's a "miniature" it's not really, the trees give your mind something to compare the size to.  Suddenly it's as tall as 6(?) of the biggest trees and it's grandeur is restored.

In other words, that's an awesome statue!

How long have you had the Swift for?

Since the first day it came out, so almost a year?

When I bought it, I was gaming a lot so it's worth it. But these days I just browse and watch youtube so I thought I'm gonna look for a wider monitor so I can do everything at once.

That Dell is pretty expensive, I wish I had that much to drop on a monitor! Are you looking to get rid of the Swift or keep it?
