It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I got it from one of the hermits of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines. He and I stick a deal that if I were to provide him with a beautiful Swedish redhead with natural blue eyes and tan skin, I were to be granted one wish in which I asked for the ruby red MX.

jK, got it from my most recent purchase from one of the users here. If he chooses to be nice, I might get a nice tri color soon as well.

Although, I must say I had no idea the profile was so different on Topre vs MX.  Has it always been that way?

Yep. Most clacks can actually just be eyeballed to see if they're MX or Topre, Topre ones are a little bit fatter :)

Yep, they are always too "big", but if on isolated ESC position it is not that big problem at all. On a 60% yes, there the height difference is much more recognized. I think it is no big deal, since these are artisan caps and always are more prominent then other caps around them :)

yeah, i actually like artisan caps being a little taller for isolated key clusters, especially for esc.  so i love the taller clacks and big V2s for my MX TKLs.  on the other hand, i prefer having the same profile for non-clustered boards.  especially the HHKB, where i think its clean aesthetic is kind of spoiled with mixed profile caps.

Very congratulate indeed!  One (well, two, I didn't even know the MX version existed) of the Clacks that I really want (and will probably never get, due to aftermarket prices).

Enjoy them very much, they are worth it :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
