It makes a person who is starting out collecting clacks to just give up.

Not at all!

I enjoy seeing what other have, especially as many of them are now extremely rare and unlikely ever to appear on the open market (at least not at anything remotely resembling an affordable price).

For now, just bide your time and collect what you can.

I'll keep collecting, so far it's been enjoyable.  ^-^

It makes a person who is starting out collecting clacks to just give up.

WUT?  Don't let Click Clack hear you say that, or you will never get any Clacks.

Clacks change hands pretty fast around here, so there is always a chance you might get one.  If you believe in Clacks, then all your dreams are possible.

“Do you know, I always thought unicorns were fabulous monsters, too?  I never saw one alive before!"

"Well, now that we have seen each other," said the unicorn, "if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you.”

~ Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland And Through The Looking Glass

So you're saying clacks are as rare as unicorns? thanks! makes me feel better now... :p

I don't think I'd ever 'collect' Clacks.. but I look forward to searching for the perfect one to accent my favourite keyboard. :)

I'm crossing my fingers for the next time some of them are up for sale. No chance buying from other members since everyone just want to trade :/
However I do understand that, they are so damn cool.

There is the occasional sale, and on rare occasions they appear on eBay (there is one there atm, iirc).

Just keep your eyes peeled, look out for Clack sales from the man himself, and bide your time.

It makes a person who is starting out collecting clacks to just give up.

It's easy to grow bitter or even resentful towards those who are more blessed by the clackness, especially if you don't have the type of funds to get them second hand or are generally unlucky... for a really long time. But they are special, and being one of those types of fans makes you appreciate them all the more when you have so little. And be happy that those who have enough to dive into like Scrooge McDuck are cool enough to take the time to share their photos and wisdom.

Yeah I've missed out on a few sales since becoming active here, I'm not going anywhere though so I know I'll get my hands on one eventually!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I have missed out on all but one sale since I joined.

In that one sale I got a HO Toast.

I was also lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time in Classifieds and got my second Clack.

I was thinking the exact same thing but just didn't say. Lol. Also, that traffic jam isn't only in U.A.E. but also London every year when the rich people from UAE come with their cars to go shopping.

Clacks are like drugs, one is never enough

It is a shame we cannot grow Clacks in a special environment.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Melt and that Terminator clack is living proof. I guarantee you he didn't get that cheap.
Is it actually a terminator? It doesn't look like it.. It just looks like bad lighting. I'm almost certain it's a black clack w/ red eyes.. Can't remember the name.. Nighthawk or something?

Nightowl. The Terminator one (T3 or something?) is silver with red eyes.

Yeah. In the second photo it does look a little silvery due to the bad lighting, but it's still too dark to be the T3.

Wow. It looked like such a dark grey, almost a black, in his photos.. The T3 is my second favourite clack. I wish it existed in MX.
