Yeah I was looking at the specialized last night. But they are way out of my budget and I'm just starting out. No need to get a pro bike just yet.

I like Giant. They have some nice bikes for the price. Trek is good, but kinda pricey. I would probably go with a Brooks saddle.

Check out TheClymb.com sometimes, they have Brooks saddles on sale. It's a woot-like site but with a bunch of items, they post different deals every day.

I went with a Cannondale. I bought it brand new, but it was the previous years model, so I got it for about 1/3rd off of the asking price.

trek giant and specialized all make bikes that you CAN ride but they are boring ugly hi-tech bikes.

steel for durability and comfort! aluminum and carbon for uncomfortable disposable racing bikes!
