No shipping notice yet. My phantom is living up to it's name :(

[)amien

I didn't get a notice. I don't think anyone is getting individual notices. Mine just showed up
I stay busy with work and family these days, but I'm still around, lurking.

got one of my phantoms up almost everything tested and works so really i have zero complaints except one about this groupbuy or the plate group buy where the issue i don't think was WFD's fault.

my only complaint is tracking would have been nice. I am paranoid as hell about my mail.

thanks bavman, thanks WFD! and thanks to anyone else involved in more minor roles in this round 2, like bpiphany.

WFD, just curious as all these went out if you got all the ones headed to TP yet?

Is it best to leave the spacers on when soldering the teensy, or should I take them off so they are not sticking out as much? Looking for maximum compatibility with cases in the future so I'm leaning towards removing the spacers before soldering.

I'm sorry about the lack of updates guys but I got real busy real quick.

Basically all but 1 US order is out, but only some internationals. I finally got the rest of the boxes to ship everything else so they should be going out sometime this week.

It's highly recommended you do, but they are a pita to remove, you have to do it slowly or you'll bend/break pins.

its going to have a larger compatibility if you take the spaces off, slap some electrical tape underneath and then solder close to the board, its what WFD suggests and it worked great for me to fit into vortex aluminium case, otherwise it wouldn't fit.

its a ***** to get the spacers off though i cheated and used xacto knife and sliced it up

Weird, I took one off no problem then put it back on before asking. I will be cautious though, thanks for the information.

Does anyone know if there is any GBs or sets of the Phantom PCB and plates are available? Looks awesome but as usual I'm finding it too late. :(

You could keep an eye out on the classified.

I highly doubt there will be another GB running anytime soon. Round 2 took place about a year after round 1.

Still no sign of BavMan. After 5 months of waiting for a Phantom PCB & plate and getting closer and closer I'm now starting to suspect I won't be getting it :(

The man hasn't been on since the 24th, so he's not heard most of the requests for updates; as of his last post, he was waiting for appropriate packaging.  One can only assume that life (that pesky thing) is getting in the way a bit.  It happens.  The fact that all but 1 US order has gone out shows that bavman hasn't disappeared into the sunset with our money leaving only promises of updates which either never appear or are cryptic non-updates (too soon?) have faith, be patient, and pull up a stool.

I have no doubt that bavman will fulfill our orders. I just wish he'd take a few minutes out of his obviously busy schedule and update us. I thought this PCB would be the first of my parts to arrive.. Now I think it'll be the last :/

Again, I have no doubt that you will fulfill our orders bavman, but I must say this is getting a little ridiculous. You have the PCBs in your hands, please take the time to ship them out or at the very least pay Geekhack a visit to update us on the situation. I have in fact ordered a KMAC PCB since I fear the Phantom won't arrive in time.

a few days late? orders closed more than half a year ago lol

This was the last group buy for Phantom v1, but it is possible another group buy for a phantom v2 or a Phantom-like TKL Cherry MX keyboard will be happening early to mid next year. Mechanicalkeyboards.com  has expressed interest in their forum in having some Phantom v1 PCBs produced if they can acquire all the other parts needed--This would not be a group buy but instead something offered by their store and this could take months to happen.

as for those orders that haven't shipped, bavman obviously isnt a scammer so i hope he is just busy and everything is ok, 2 weeks is an eternity for a group buy organizer to go inactive while having unshipped items.

Lol sorry, I keep getting mixed up with this forum. I keep thinking it's in order of forum post,  not most recent reply. So no more buys for a while? Does that mean I should go out and buy a Majestouch TKL now, instead of waiting to get a phantom first?

I have genuine concern for bavman and that the delays are part of something going wrong. Almost a month inactive. Only way to clear that up is for him to log in and say he is ok.

Oh, please don't say that. I have too much invested in this GB to have those types of issues pop up. I can't handle another Changedrew saga ATM.

Yah, I was wondering if anyone got their "special plates" eg wfd125 pro150 etc etc.

After going through the posts it seems I am just coupled with the other bavman error shipments.

Are you confirming he's just busy and unable to ship at this moment? I surely hope this is the case and bavman is ok, because it's very odd for him to disappear for this long when he was literally in the middle of shipping packages.
