Except for those people in far away lands it would be cheaper for you to lube your own switches and ship them back and forth.  Lubing is a time intensive job, and just soldering is going to suck up my free and not-so-free time pretty savagely.

I was just stirring here.  Didn't mean to pile any extra work onto you.  I appreciate the effort of just soldering the damn switches onto the pcb because I tried it once and failed major league.

Besides I won't be asking for anything else other than just soldering.

The keyboard WILL be finger licking good after all!

And if anyone wants to know what will be happening to my red 86. Red on grey Klaxon all round, with full red leds. Some sort of code red board!

I picked the most boring option: no LEDs except for white on Caps and Scroll.

I do have a bunch of red ones I could use when I build mine, though.

Yes, but it's the most logical.  Light's won't make you a better typist, nor would it make you look any ......cooler.

There's a good chance mine will end up like this too. Or else maybe full white LED but the LEDs would be turned off most of the time lol.

why ruin a 400$ keyboard with ugly rainbows.

most regrettable decision ever related to KBs was making a rainbow set on WASD. lol

If using lots of LEDs is how you want to customize your "custom" keyboard then do it. There are no rules last time I checked. I'm using two colors and maybe a third just for ESC.

I wouldn't consider it a rainbow. it's esc+scroll+caps one color. wasd+arrows another and then three colors for the f rows

Yeah a bit late for this round.

You might find a few LZ-S/F's on classified which are similar if you have the money to spend.

Seems like that would be pretty useful. How about in terms of functionality/programability?

I think it's because of the price. Can you tell me something? What is the estimated price of one of those wireless keyboards with the Logitech controller, in maybe an acrylic case? We should try to do a group buy for something like that. I saw one LifeZone posted, and it was great.

Earlier comment from GB organizer Boost on pg 29 of this thread: "Redline is releasing a GUI to program the trik PCB"

LZ-GH PCB is user programmable.  We can go nuts.

Well I hope there is another LZ at least, I'm really disappointed I didn't know about it in time. Wouldof bought one, maybe two!

So when they say 'trik' pcb, does that mean you can program all LZ keyboards?

LZGH is the first keyboard that will be using the TRiK (Team Redline in Korea) PCB. The TRiK PCB is fully programmable, has full LED capabilities and is supposed to have its own GUI for key mapping.

The previous LZ models were cases designed by LZ based on existing community made PCB's such as the A87. They were fully programmable as well.

I don't know if the people in charge have thought of this, or what their plan was, but when you go to ship boards out, you might want to consider only sending PCBs and plates to Alaric. and sending the cases to their final recipients. Everyone should be able to handle putting the plate inside the case and screwing it shut on their own, so why not save mailing the heavy part once?
