I would offer lubing, but blues/clickly switches are out of my range of expertise

Hey, BunnyLake, since it appears you will be receiving your Poker with blues from Alessandro after all, which would you rather have...another Poker with ghetto greens, an alu case for the Poker, or something else, like the Filco MINILA?

Thanks for the offers of help, The_Beast and Gupgup, but I would have the stickering covered, and lube is bad for clicky switches.

Yeah I don't actually lube them, I just oil the springs to get rid of the clang when it pops up.

No problem though, if my QFR would sell I'd be able to donate some money :/

They make your keyboard faster, more responsive, and gives it a boost in power. Just like dragon stickers for PCs.

Don't lie, missalaire. They increase the sex appeal. When a girl is around, she can just feel the stickers (because she obviously can't see them) and can't help herself.

I wan to know what stickers are doing too. From what i have read on the forums using the search it reduces the wobby feel of the switches w/e that means.

So when the switches are mounted, they apparently have a bit of wobble which the stickers then remove. I think it's a load of crap though, which is why missalaire and moose are trolling so hard :D

I think they were originally intended to be used on switches that have been opened many times. After opening many times the clasp on the top that connects with the bottom half can become looser. Adding some filler to tighten it back up could help with that I guess, but they are probably only a huge waste of time and effort in any other case.

I thought so, too, CPTBadAss, until I modded some switches with stickers. You don't think the switch housing moves, until you put those stickers on there, and then it really WON'T move, AT ALL!

That is rubbish. I have opened switches on boards that were manufactured in 1985, and I am sure they were not stored well and there was zero dust inside.

I've never seen dust inside a switch, ever. And I have opened some switches from some pretty nasty WYSE boards.

But it does alleviate any play from the tolerances of the housing halves.

These were originals from the GB and from sherryton.

ok awersome people

off topic but ill make it relevant some how

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=42691.msg863289#new

im going to be doing an auction for some keys to donate some money to geek hack as well as the cherry legends fund

i can make these keys to order in any colors, and all color combos will only be made once so every key will be a one off, and i wont do any runs after

apart from this charity auction, there will be only 10 keys out there, 6 have gone out to various secret santas, and 4 have been given away through the freebies thread
