Is your Profession or Lifestyle keyboard based?
« on: Wed, 19 June 2013, 13:58:18 »
Pick any or add your own:

1. I am a Professional Typist. Typing is the primary and main job. A novelist or text journalist might also fit here.
2. I am in a Profession that requires typing very directly but it's not the main requirement: Programming, Telecommunications, Online Tech Support etc.
3. Other job that requires typing but in a lesser extend: Engineer, Scientist without heavy paper writing, Laywer that doesn't type all own work, Clerk, etc.
4. I rarely type but I use computing a lot: Gaming, Simulations, CAD, Graphics, Animation, 3D Design, etc.
5. Other/Fit your own description
6. I rarely use a keyboard/computer at all. I like keyboards as a hobby.
7. I've no idea how to touch type or even use a keyboard but I plan to do it in the future
8. I used to be fitting in another category but I'm now in another one. As a result I'm stuck with keyboards
9. ???
10. Topre VS MX VS The buckling of springs

9.  I am unemployed right now, but was a grad student who did a ton of typing, have worked in data entry and analysis, and am looking for work in more typing heavy fields.

2 + 1 for me. Though really 2 involves more typing than 1.

I work primarily with the database side of the house, so I'm often churning out several thousand queries a day.

I'd say between 2 and 3.
At work I'm typing a lot, I take breaks on Paint Shop Pro but I still use the keyboard for ctrlC ctrlV and brush sizes. Writing documents ans replying to emails is my main job.
At home I'm on IRC, imageboards, or gaming, so it's still a lot of keyboard-action  ^-^.

That is a flight management system (FMS). Start saving your pennies though ...they're north of $20k on the used market. If you want it to be functional you'll have to get the jet it goes with. Might get a break there at around $25 million for an older one with a lot of time on the engines.
