Didn't realize this was a silent type of a giveaway.  Pretty cool though--congrats to all those who got something :D

On the personal front, the amount of drama here is precisely why I've been staying away from clacks--I can't imagine getting one at the going prices or rising my blood pressure because of all the fighting and competition.  Keyboard customization should be fun.  I enter all the official giveaways and then blissfully stay out of discussions--feels much better.  And if I happen to get something out of those sales--all the better!

The discussions are fun...most the time, but yeah, the drama is a bit insane at times.  I just like the people who don't take it seriously and joke around.

your logic is deeply flawed my friend.

How so?

People complaining about the prices isnt driving the prices up.  The people setting the prices, and the people paying the insane prices are what are driving the prices up.

People talking about how much they want them and complaining about them are making them more desirable and increasing demand which in turn is  driving the prices up.

I'll agree that the hype surrounding clacks is contributing to the price increace.  But comments about the price being too high arent.  Anyway this is going in circles so im going to stop arguing with you.

Maybe one day i will get lucky and be hit by the clack lazer.

Or also get lucky on the Ek raffle. OR Get lucky when someone is selling one for 20$-40$ and being a good person :P

But not today. Today i will be clack-less.

I'm wearing it on my chest right now.

Now that the lasers know where to find me, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a Clack soon.   :thumb:

That approach has worked once or twice - it is not necessarily likely to work again.

Others have opened a WTB thread (with a request for a CC at cost), and been granted such by other generous GH members.

Some appear to have been picked at random by CC (shot at random by CC with a laser?).

Some get lucky in an EK drawing.

Some manage to beat the odds in those first 3 seconds of a 4grabs.

A few other have deep pockets, very deep pockets.

Everyone else just gazes in wonder at the collections of some members, and hope, and dream.

Bacon.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

And it also builds a huge amount of hype for his next sale, when/if it happens. People go loco for these translucent glow in the dark beauties, and only increases our desire to own one.
