So, I picked up a Leopold FC660C with the otaku keyset from EK, and now I desperately want two clacks for the insert and delete keys... Anyone selling topre clacks should drop me a line, I'm willing to consider just about anything at the moment. Of particular interest is the 3d skull and oktoberfest cap.

I swore when I first started reading this site that I wouldn't go near this stuff, but those two keys look so lonely up on the top right corner. :( haha

Hello all.  My name is naasfu, and I have a problem.  Wave a Clack in front of my face, and I will take it.  I just can't say no.  Arggh.

The first step to recovery is to sell me the Drunken Skull.

Uh oh.. I did it again.. I said no more clacks.. Just got a clack in the mail! One more is incoming as well.

 :-X
I'm already debating getting more! The addiction is too strong I tell you..

Which one did you get?

Revenge Red and F2 Red!  ;)
Revenge red was the first clack I saw when I was reading about clacks on the wiki. I thought it was so amazing haha!

It is very amazing, super vibrant in person. My first Red clack! Im excited to put it with one of the White Realforces! The F2 on the other! :D

RR is defiantly one of the best matched colors for cap sets. It almost perfectly emulates the hue of the Red Alert set, and looks amazing with it.

Oh I meant to put that it feels freaking awesome! :p

The best part is this one clack I just sent it out without even knowing what I'm going to get for it, living on the edge  :o

AND it feels good to sell clacks to people who appreciate them and at cost.

You can have that now!  Just mumble and curse at those who cause this sale to be missed by creating counterfeit Clacks.  Then feel disappointment that no one got one because of them.  Finally feel bitterly resentful toward them for making one less run of new, interesting, and beautiful Clacks all with tears streaming down your face, crying out to the lord clack asking why false idols have caused him to forsake us.

Or, you know, do the adult thing and say ****'s sad, but oh well, things will work out.  But where's the fun in that?

Clacks are pretty inflated right now and the bubble hasn't quite burst yet.  You used to be able to find something like a Hack Orange Skull for $60-70 and some of the 420 "leaf" caps for as low as $50, but more generally in the $65-90 range.  It seems like everything is going for north of $100 now unless you get lucky and find someone willing to sell at a loss or even at cost, neither of which happen often.

A lovely gentleman sold me an F2 Red for $65. It was actually sitting in /r/mechmarket for an hour before I PM'd him; I was sure that I was too late, but he hadn't gotten any interest.

It's the most reasonably-priced clack I've seen recently.

Nah nothing good about me haha. I think the best priced clacks are the ones that aren't publicly sold but sold/traded through pm's, also less butthurt that way.

Well I think it was nice of you. :) No idea about clack pricing outside classifieds as I've only gotten one offer and that was the F2 ROTB picked up, but I'm sure you're right about that!

One day.... Coming up on a year here at GH and I've had no luck, hopefully the clack lasers hit me and I can ask for something Toxic!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I don't know how the laser hitting works, but if one can ask for specific if hit I'd ask for Toxic too!

He has mentioned a couple of times that he was super busy around the end of last year.  Maybe the same for beginning of this year.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

He stated that he had some financial issues arise because of the counterfeiters, hence why some sales would be eliminated.  It sucks to have your work ripped off, but when it costs you money, it's even worse.

I just miss seeing his random posts, like the car posts and so on. It's sad that some selfish person is keeping him from participating with the community.  I'd be sad, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he takes a long hiatus.

So the costing him money part is him tracking down the fakes and buying them from the people who owned them? That must have cost him a bomb!

More like solicitor fees to sue those who copied his designs.

I will spend good money on a keyboard. Something that I will use. It adds value. I owned two clacks for a very short time and realized that it is the biggest waste of money I could possibly think of.

I get you dude, however some people are perfectly fine with a cheap sirloin steak for dinner every once in a while. Personally, i like to treat myself to a nice grass fed kobe beef filet when i want steak. They both end up in the toilet the following day, but one costs a hell of alot more...

Wouldn't continuous sales of Clacks limit the counterfeit problem? The reason the counterfeits exist is because the originals are high in demand, due to their rarity, in the after-market. So if you say, "to hell with it", and just run continuous sales of originals, people won't have a reason to counterfeit anymore.

Unless, there are logistical reasons for not being able to do continuous sales, of course.

So presumably unless the interest dies out completely it would seem the price of clacks can only go up? Supply and demand, and it seems the supply as it exists today is all there will be for the foreseeable future.
