I'm not sure what Clack expected to happen, lol. I get a chuckle imagining him deleting all the posts, getting through about 30 of them, and then just tossing his hands in the air and giving up as 200 more are posted in the same period of time.

1) Begins 2-29-16, Ends 12-25-15. That's why it's the Radnelac people. Deal wid it!

Clack is counting backwards. We've got about another 2 months to go. The multiple winners, well, you just have to look at the rules/thread each day and see that he's been picking several.

If history repeats himself, Clack will do some sort of freeby day on the very last day. Pretty much he will post, and leave the thread open for lets say 10 minutes and everyone who posts in it gets the opportunity of buying a Clack with a stem of their choice :thumb:

Maybe there will be one between midnight and 3 am.
That's basically the only shot I've got for the next month.
Or quit job - obtain clacks. That's the obvious choice though.

The recent sale opened on my 3am. And I was bleary eyed as I "pulled to refresh" on my phone, in the dark.. and it lasted almost an hour. I hope I am not going blind, LOL, that would be funny! By now (12 noon), I am almost a zombie!!! I am not sure I want to do 3am sale again, nor you.

If I win one that isn't an ogre or isn't a kickass Bi or Tri that I could never part with, I'll let you and jalaj fight over who gets it since you both have been awesome people to me and in general.  demik has permission to come and give me e.coli Chipotle if I don't follow through on that.

Anyone know how I can get faster forum notifications? By the time I receive the email notifying me of a post, the post has already been closed and I'm just sad. I'm not sure if it's my gmail app on my phone or something else.

Any idea how to get the in app notifications to stop popping up telling you someone has replied to this thread when you are already in the app, they stop you from actually being able to reply.... super annoying when you waking up at 2am to try and get in :(

Much therapy.

Wow!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Wow!

Definitely a sign of clackvent :)

These are the notifications I am trying to get rid of, the ones that appear in app when you have it open?!? I just want to get them when the app isn't open. Tried setting my when unlocked settings to none but these still popup. Any ideas, my settings in GH are as suggest above.

is that the iOS modal alert?  go to your iOS notifications settings and switch to banners instead of alerts.  unfortunately i don't think you can choose separate types of alerts for in-app vs out of app.

That's what I thought, I have it actually set to none right now (only suppose to show on lock screen) but they still come up. Really weird.

Edit: for the record, tried banner first but it didn't work and then tried none.

I've dug through every notification setting I can find in iOS, and unfortunately there's nothing related to only allowing one notification. In previous versions of iOS, there were actual options to limit the number of notifications you'd receive from an App, but it looks like those have been removed in iOS 9  :'(

I believe at this point the best option would be to turn Do Not Disturb mode on after cc posts in the thread, as you'll already be watching the thread F5ing, and really the only notification you'd be looking for is cc's post anyways. Unfortunately this won't really help if he opens the even immediately after posting (unless you skip using Tapatalk and instead use Safari after getting the notification).

It's definitely a janky solution, but it should work (unless Tapatalk ignores DND for some reason). Also, make sure that you go into Settings > Do Not Disturb and set the 'Silence' field to Always, otherwise it'll only mute the notifications when your phone is locked.

Android users, if you do have the Do Not Disturb mode (I know Android M does, not sure about earlier versions), make sure you select 'Total Silence'.

Other ideas (that aren't guaranteed to increase your chances at winning, but hopefully it helps :D ):
  • Install another mobile browser just for Clackvent, and set the homepage to https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=post;topic=77786.0 That way when you open the browser, it's already on the reply page.
  • Follow clickclack and ClackFactory accounts in Tapatalk. I'm not sure if it notifies you when they post, but it's worth a shot I guess, right?

That's been my strategy as well :) but in the middle of the night it's slightly less appealing. Might just leave safari open on the page and switch to that.
