It's always disheartening, but time heals all. That and second hand sales.

And other chances and surprises!

At least this time there was only like one day to build up suspense.

Last time (excluding the recent US-only sales) there was at least a week of suspense-builkding before the sale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I can't believe this. 13. 13 CC sales in a row. 2 years. 13, most within the second and not a single one that I've not bought for over $100 second hand. All you people complaining can just stuff it until you get on my level of luck. **** it, I'm getting drunk. **** my **** luck.

Damn man. Ive participated in ~5 and have yet to get one the legit way. If nothing else these sales (and your post) have given me a new appreciation for my SINGLE randomly won CC. Thank you elite keyboards (wish they sold/raffled cc more often...) They sell them way less than cc does directly it seems. And buying direct feels like such a crap shoot. Ah well theres always next time

It is a bit ridiculous.  What makes it bad though is the people who take them and instantly flip them for 3 times what they paid.

I sold off my HO simply because I didn't like the color of it in person. I thought, why not throw it for auction here and let people pay what they want to. I feel that that's the only fair way of getting rid of them other than trading.

Anyone count the total "in" replies as to see how many people got it? Curious as to what the total CC's available were.

There are other fair ways.  Personally, I'm diametrically opposed to auctions and profiteering (not making a profit, but flipping for massive profits).  I prefer to sell to people I know will use it and truly appreciate it.  For things like Clacks, I'd sell to the right people at cost.  Clacks are art and art, to me at least, is always best in the hands of those who can appreciate it, not in the hands of those who hoard it or treat it as a commodity or investment.  I'd rather sell at cost to the person who doesn't have one and wants one to complete their keyboard look.

When you send international you should always have a phone number, some postal service requires it some doesn't but it's one of those things with a phone number it's less likely to get lost.

One time I had a package from Korea coming in the address was written in a way the post office couldn't understand so they called the number I provided and I was able to get my package

While I did not get the ones I wanted most this time around, I did get in twice in a row now. The only thing I do is use Gmail. I keep two browser pages open next to each other, one with the timer, the other one with gmail. I make sure to have the one with gmail selected, (otherwise I would have to click twice, once for selection, second to send the mail), and just send when the timer hits 0. I do not actually wait to see the zero. I time it by counting down and the moment the switch occurs is when I press send.

Though even after all that, I am still quite convinced most of it is random luck.
