[FS] Hack Orange MX Skull...with a twist

Wow, this is really thoughtful, specially since you understand how it can be very hard to afford a CC Skull at the ongoing prices.

I would really love to own a MX Skull since I don't have one for a couple of reasons, 1. I got in on the last 4Grabs, was the first one to know infact, however since someone else (I won't mention who, unless they want to reveal themselves) really really wanted to get a CC and that person had been very generous to the community, I decided to give my CC spot to them, it was a hard decision to take, but I really felt it was the right thing to do at that time, and still do.

Second reason I want, and want the HO is that I have been working to make the 40% SmallFry board come true and made a case design for myself as well that can be used to carry the case, thus it is something I will most definitely use, and this as you suggested yourself nubs, would look great with the Nathan set, which would be going on my 40%, when that happens.

And I am not going to be selling this, reason is I don't think I will be able to afford another one, so I want one skull, really in any color, and I would cherish for the rest of my life.

I am a Clackless person and have had no luck at trying to acquiring one at a sane price. I joined GH last December so by the time I found out about CC's they were crazy expensive. I am down to one MX keyboard a Phantom which I would proudly display that HO on if selected. Thanks for the opportunity!

As I have no sets that this would match, I am not in (even though I really want a clack).

I would be all over this if it was a Topre. I've been trying to get one at a reasonable price for a while now for my HHKB that I use daily for work.

Good luck to you MX people out there. While it would look great on my Poker II on my recreation computer, it just wouldn't look great with my blue/grey PBT set that Halverson hooked me up with.

Ditto to both of you. My daily driver is going to be Topre for a while, and I'd feel like a real jerk if I was the winner.

I don't own a clack, mostly because it would cost me all of my extra money for the month. This would actually be reasonable, and I wouldn't have to skip food for a week. I don't really care what color I end up with, but being able to show off a clack to my not so keyboard competent friends would be AWESOME. I sure a **** won't sell it, either. It'd be the immortalized escape key on my QFR.

Heh, I'd like my own appeal but it'd probably be overshadowed by lcs's magnificent piece.
I'll compose a sonnet, I have experience in that. But as a preliminary:

I'm somewhat new to mechanical keyboards, having joined the forum two months ago and loving the atmosphere. Philosophically, none are really more deserving than another of this wonderful keycap, so I won't pretend like you should let me take it at such a price. But I could say that I'd honestly appreciate the gesture a lot, what you're doing by being generous to others and introducing an uninitiated to clacks.

But I am nowhere near as important to this forum as SmallFry, who from my readings of his posts in old threads was a benevolent, helpful spirit. So instead of giving it to one of us, I'd rather you give it to someone close to SmallFry as keyboarding was never as important to me as to him. I'll take it happily if you offer it directly to me, but I think that lcs and some others deserve it more given the amount of effort he put into his post.

So, personal appeal, in all its humbleness: I'm a lover of keyboards, in all shapes and switch; rubber dome to scissor to mechanical (okay, maybe not the microwave ones). But I've been a typist by nature, and I would be overjoyed if a generous geekhacker found me fit for semi-charity of this cap. I'd certainly never stop staring at it, and it'd probably spur me to buy an orange keycap set to match it. But as I seem to be experiencing RSI, it would be a really nice thing to greet me upon recovery!

Hi there! I'm fairly new around here, and discovered mech keyboards last March. I had just finished my first PC build and was looking for a keyboard when I stumbled upon GH. After a lot of research and trying a few switch types, I discovered what I like! I totally fell in love with the 60% aesthetic and functionality, and settled on a Poker 2.

Just graduated last year and have been pretty bummed out about the current job market/student loan situation, but browsing custom keyboards and seeing the personal expression and amazingly creative things people do with their keyboards has been a fantastic hobby. By saving a little bit here and there, I've been slowly but surely working on making my dream keyboard. The two things I want more than anything but have not been able to afford are a clack and an aluminum case.

I already love this keyboard to death and have been enjoying so much getting to continue to tweak it, but a clack would truly make it amazing! Specifically, I've been doing everything I can to find an orange clack, as it would be perfect with my current keycaps (Orange on charcoal with polycarbonate keycap modifiers). I don't foresee having the funds to get a clack any other way (and its the perfect color!!!), and so thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm sure everyone here deserves their first clack, so whatever decision you make will be the right one. Thanks for doing this for the community

I once got lucky and bought a CC off an EK sale. I didn't know what "topre" was then , so I bought the CC, only to realize that it doesn't fit my MX boards.

I decided to sell the 3D CC off at the price I got them at, to someone who can place it on their boards and admire the beauty of the CC.

Ever since then I've been on the look out for CCs, participating in sales, but I just haven't got the luck. CCs were either too expensive or I just weren't lucky enough to get in on the sale, despite staying up till 3am-6am.

I've been on the search for someone who is willing to do the same as I did for someone else; selling CC at the price they got it for.

Perhaps you could be the one that does this favour for me!

I've been lurking since around 11' and just decided to make an account last year. It would be great to have this CC because I feel left out and dumb. I missed many opportunities in the past when other CC's were on sale. I have never realized how deluxe and luxurious these keycaps were until now, a time when CC's are very rare and hard to get. So I happened upon this blog while I was searching for key caps for my boyfriend, to give to him as a Christmas gift. I can honestly say that I don't really know what key caps are and why everyone wants one so badly but my boyfriend has been wanting one since forever now - it's all he ever talks about. He's entered like every contest out there to try and get one, and has even asked me to enter my name in some draws. I thought that I would try and search for them on ebay but they are extremely expensive and me being a poor student would not be able to afford them! I've given myself a limit of spending 50$ on one which might not seem like a lot for key caps, but I don't have 150 to spend on a Christmas present as much as I want to. My boyfriend loooooooooves computer stuff and he's always looking to upgrade whether it be sleeving his computer wires or putting in a water cooling system (please excuse me if I'm not using the write terminology for this, I'm nowhere near tech savvy), so it would mean a lot if I could get one of these and surprise him! I definitely don't own any keycaps and neither does my boyfriend - that's why he's been trying so hard to get one. In any case I would love to win this clack for my boyfriend, but also good luck to everyone else entering this contest

I'd love to own the HO clack! I currently do not own any clicks at all, though I have been on the look-out for any at a decent price.
I think this HO clack would look amazing on the Poker I am building. It would sit alongside my Round 3 Set from Round 4 (if that makes any sense, haha) with a nice orange WASD set as an accent. Thanks for your consideration!

I'll throw my hat in the ring, I've arrived at an "endgame" keyboard of a kmac 1.2 with dolch and would love a single clack to top off the board, but just can't bring myself to pay market prices.  I'll keep trying to get other clacks at retail, and should I ever be so lucky, will pass this guy on again for $30 to continue the tradition.  Plus you can meet me in person and know it's going to a good home(located in Long Beach)

Any thoughts on engraving the clack on the underside/back of the cap to indicate that it should only sell for $30?

Jumping on the bandwagon here, GeekHack is great because of guys like Nub and the creative stuff that gets done by the boards members (as much as I hate the current CC economics/market, the product is pretty slick)

Awesome little bit of history I didn't know.  It explains the where the hack part of the name came from.  I do love the color, but, sadly, just have nothing it could go with and don't foresee anything it would go with in the future, not with my tastes.

I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't sell the Clack this way.  I've long said that I hate the way that Clacks get treated in here and the prices they get sold for.  As much as I'd love and could use a big cash infusion right now, this is one small way that I can try and ensure that these artisan caps get shared with people who will appreciate them and put them to use.  It's great to see so many people excited for it and what they'll use it with.  Honestly, it will be tough to choose who it goes to.  I just hope to see the final setup it ends up with.

I don't watch the forum every minute of every day. I do have a outside life, I wish I could rely on just being notified by email but it's become apparent (disheartening) that that's the only way. Kudos to EK for helping to distribute them and raffling the buyers off. It's as fair of a opportunity you can get, but what's the point of subscribing to their site anyways? So I can be notified of their merchandise and not the exact thing me and sooo many others are looking for?

I don't have any clacks, and there are a few things having a clack would do for me:

The hack orange is nearly the exact shade of the orange of the college I want to go to: Oklahoma State... like seriously the exact color (http://go.okstate.edu/)

But more important than that, I'd like to have something to remember this community by when I move on to other things in my life. I really enjoy each visit to this site and each post made by the great people in this community, it's really something different than other forums. I'd use it on my Leopold FC660m with cherry MX blues when it arrives.
