My hairline has receded an inch in the past few years. And no one in my family is bald. :(

****ing child proof anything. it just reminds me how stupid i am. i just want to take this god damn pen out its god damn packaging but no, lets make it ****ing child proof so the idiots can't get it either.
<xterm> The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Because if you don't warn people that the spinning lawnmower blades are dangerous, or that the coffee you just bought is hot, they will sue you if something happens to you.

Just in case this is the case you're referring to and you haven't read the whole story: https://www.citizen.org/congress/article_redirect.cfm?ID=785
Note: I found that by googling. I'm not familiar with that site or how reputable it is.

Yeah I've seen the details before, and I still think it's silly that people have to be warned that coffee is hot.

It's not a warning that coffee is hot though, in that case McDonald's was negligent and served coffee farrrr too hot.

I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment at all (I wholeheartedly agree that people are dumb and these constant warnings and such are silly), I just think people blow that case way out of proportion and don't know the context, assuming it's entirely the lady's fault.  That's all.  :thumb:

Well, putting coffee between your legs in the car isn't the smartest decision in the world either.  :p I was more talking about the constant warnings than that one case in particular. There are some really dumb ones out there.

Once it gets more noticeable, you gotta shave it off. The cul de sac look isn't a good one.

There's this little place downstairs where I like to get lunch and they just got a new employee.

Real nice guy, but when serving the next person in line he says: "Can I help whosever next?"

Just say that aloud.

I think it's a really **** move to try and tell him "whosever" is not a word, and what he's looking for is: "Can I help whoever is (whoever's would be fine) next?"

Waiting in line and hearing that four or five times over was like having a piece of gravel in my shoe.

I don't think that is grammatically correct in its context, though. 'Whoever' or 'whomever' sounds more appropriate.

You might be right, I'm not super familiar with the proper usage of 'whosoever'.  Merriam-Webster seems to imply that it's basically a direct substitute for 'whoever', which makes my abomination of a question *technically* correct, unless I'm mistaken.  :)

Agreed. He's missing the contraction at the end of the word. "Whoever is" and "whomever is..." are all fine but when you put that "s" in the middle of the word it is just plain incorrect semantically and grammatically.

Yeah the original guy you were referring to was definitely wrong.  I was just having fun trying to make a technically correct sentence that sounds equally as goofy.

Hoff I know you're the people's champion and I love how you're giving him the benefit of the doubt, but in this case I don't think he was drawing on his understanding of the proper usage for "whosoever"  :p

Oh haha, sorry for my wording in my original response.  :-X  I was being 100% sarcastic in my implication that he was intending to say that.  My bad.  I know he was wrong, I was just having fun.  :D

PS demik is a nerd

Haha no worries man I saw your other post only after I replied. Plus sarcasm is hard to convey over the internet  ;)

I spend a good deal of time in a server closet. It is loud and (hopefully) cold.

I am such a nerd.  :-[
