I had a bizarre pocket ink miracle.  It simultaneously bugs me and makes me happy.  My fountain pen cap popped off in my pocket.  Last I remember, it was nearly full of ink.  I pull it out and it's empty; however, nothing had ink on it and I have no clue where the ink went.  It's awesome and horrible because the only other thing I can think is that it might have stained my car seat instead of my pants and my leg.

You have to wait for an emissions test?

I'll spot you, bro.

You have to wait for an emissions test?

Probably just waiting in queue for the test itself.

Well that's a mystery and a half.  I hope we don't see a follow-up that you've stained the car seat. :(

It seems like the ink just disappeared.  I have no clue what happened to it since my seat is not inky.

That sucks.  I lost my first cat to kitty leukemia.  At least your kitty is no longer suffering.  How's everyone else taking it?  I know it can be devastating having to deal with death of any kind as a kid.

Thanks, guys.

My 4 year old asked me why I was sad, so I explained it and her response was "Well you should calm down". Not sure I'm doing a great job of teaching empathy to that one.

My older one is 6, and she is pretty upset. She thinks it is contagious and our other cat is going to "leave" too. I said that isn't how this kind of sick works, and she seemed to be okay with that.

You are all right tho: He isn't in pain anymore and he is probably out hunting mice somewhere. He really loved to kill mice. My other cat wants to befriend them. I think Senor Gato is going to be sad without his baby bro around.

Yeah, I've got some paint thinner, acetone, etc in large gallon cans that all have child proof caps. I can never get those damn things off, so I just cut them off. It's a plastic cap that goes over the typical metal caps of those sorts of cans.

Sincerest condolences.

Although losing pets due to their inherently shorter life spans is inevitable, losing one early is especially difficult.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What's bothering me? I guess, on a spur of the moment, just seeing the fact Northgate Omnikey keyboards are all ridiculously high priced on eBay thanks to ornery sellers who kept high prices for months on their boards until someone finally bought one (looking at you blue alps Omnikey man). I don't particularly care for Omnikeys but this kinda **** is annoying.

Oh great, it's dropped to 30 degrees now.  Still 27 degrees inside.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

My kitty didn't make it. He had kitty cancer, and there was nothing they could do.

RIP, little guy.

I'm super sad.

My condolences. RIP kitty... Really sucks when a pet dies, I still miss my kitty, even though it's been a long time. Got her when I was 8, she died when I was 26.

Because if you don't warn people that the spinning lawnmower blades are dangerous, or that the coffee you just bought is hot, they will sue you if something happens to you.

Just in case this is the case you're referring to and you haven't read the whole story: https://www.citizen.org/congress/article_redirect.cfm?ID=785
Note: I found that by googling. I'm not familiar with that site or how reputable it is.

Yeah I've seen the details before, and I still think it's silly that people have to be warned that coffee is hot.

It's not a warning that coffee is hot though, in that case McDonald's was negligent and served coffee farrrr too hot.

I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment at all (I wholeheartedly agree that people are dumb and these constant warnings and such are silly), I just think people blow that case way out of proportion and don't know the context, assuming it's entirely the lady's fault.  That's all.  :thumb:

From what I've heard, the coffee was way too hot, and the old lady spilled it on herself. Because the coffee was hotter than expected, she wanted McD's to pay just for the medical bills. The media found out about it and took it to the next level.

And America is what you get when the lawyers and judges adhere only to the letter of the law and not the spirit. Their title is "Judge", shouldn't that meant that they actually use their judgement and throw out cases where people haven't used common sense? Less labels, more common sense, more taking responsibility by all = less fear, better self-image and less money spent on lawyers.
