You'd be out of luck! They'd take your $$ and then not intercept it. USPS is cool like that. USPS bothers me on the regular, so this is even on topic to the thread.

Now I'mma troll you even harder, buddy.

Part 3 of my missing parcel:

Royal Mail got back to me on twitter and told me to open a claim.

Claim opened apparently RM take 30 days for the claim so hopefully I get something happening, the twitter people advised me to list it under delivered but damaged, so again hope I can get something sorted.

Other new managed to finish building a 7+ hour rover project in space engineers, my friend logs onto the server gets into it and within the next two minutes drives it directly off a cliff scrapping it .-.

.-.

I'm not allowed nice things am I?

You are, but only from beautiful people ;)
Ohh well then I have never gotten anything nice then, especially in the last two weeks from anyone situated in the UK right?

I'm terrified of the dentist. I give you all kinds of credit for going through with the visits and procedures in the first place. I'd probably just would have had it pulled. You are brave in my book.

It has arrived, and I haven't flipped it...yet. We'll see how that lasts. I will do my best! I'm now bothered that it took me so long to get one of these. Thank goodness the kind folk of gh set me right. It will take me a little bit to get used to the arrow keys being in a different spot, but this thing is pretty awesome.

Was supposed to be a short day at work today, because of the holiday tomorrow and all. Instead someone did something by accident that I've been working to fix all day. It is 4pm and I've just finished, but getting out an hour early doesn't seem like a victory to me. Everyone else left hours ago. Including the person that made the mistake.

After talking with my dad on the phone, I often wish we had a better relationship. A good portion of our conversations seem to devolve into pointless headbutting and arguing resulting in this toxic dynamic between us, and now he's getting up there in age. I just don't know how to change things this late in our lives, especially with an entire country between us we never get to speak face to face. It just ****ing sucks to want so much to have a healthier relationship with a parent but knowing it will probably never happen. :(

Grandma died.
And I'm bothered that I'm not feeling any kind of sadness/feeling about this event.
I loved her, but seeing her gone and put to the ground isn't affecting me the slightest.

I had a similar reaction when my grandmother died recently. Really she was gone mentally a year or two before her physical passing, which gave a lot of the family time to process and prepare. It was almost a relief when she finally went, just to know she wasn't just a shell of a human that was in constant pain.
And sometimes a feeling of numbness can just as poignant as a sharp stab.

Just saw this.

I'm also very sorry to hear this, my friend. Sometimes, it's so overwhelming and shocking that our brains don't know how to react :( I remember when one of my grandmas passed away, I had a similar incident, but it was always on my mind.

May she rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

But, don't feel bad about not feeling bad. I had similar feelings when my grandparents passed. In all cases they were quite old and it wasn't unexpected. I think for the most part, when someone reaches a truly old age they make peace with the inevitable. I think those of us left behind do too. I'm sure she would be happier being loved when she was here than to have people mourning that she is gone.

Would it help to just be honest with him and let him know how you feel?  I've not had to deal with this exact scenario, but it seems like that might be the best option to me.

she wanted McD's to pay just for the medical bills
TIL I can't sue British McD for too hot coffee >:D

Also, didn't read the last page because it's filled with rubbish regardless of how many relevant posts are there.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Grandma died.
And I'm bothered that I'm not feeling any kind of sadness/feeling about this event.

There is a time to live and a time to die. If her life was full and satisfying, then she completed her role.

Death (our own acceptance/reluctance of it, as well as those near us) can take many forms, and if the one who is going is ready and accepting, then we should be too.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I just startled a young lady by simply being a tall figure walking past as she exited her car in our incredibly safe neighborhood/parking lot. So bad that she dropped her phone.  :-/

:(
It was not actually your height that startled her but your rugged good looks :)

Her thinking: "wow, they make them this tall and ugly"

luckily for her, i wasn't with him. or she would have seen the short and ugly version also ;_;

Some people flip anything for a laugh.

I am not bothered by your flippancy.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
