Blame the hoarders and black market.

There are a couple artisans I would have thrown big money at to support them but can't even get the time of day, you gotta be in the right clique I guess.

I'm over it.

Yeah. I'm definitely not at the stage where I am over it.

It kinda sucks that it's turned into something so amazing when someone sells an artisan for close to retail and doesn't charge hundreds for one. That's how I have my only clack, but it sucks you can't just buy an artisan nowardays.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Dude, join the fight.  Co-ed bathrooms and locker rooms.

The whole "privilege" thing does tend to push people away and not really encourage discussion.  I know I tend to shut down the minute someone says privilege since they're usually someone who thinks in black and white and is just there to yell, not to discuss.

That said, to be fair, that's not a liberal issue, but one for trans-persons, regardless of their political leaning.  It is something that causes stress and discomfort to people.  Many universities, gyms, and other public places are enacting more inclusive policies to try and address the underlying issue.  It's particularly sensitive for high school level kids since there already are so many issues about shame, body image, sexual identity, and so one being worked through at that age.

Our society is so selective about which of these issues to care about at a particular moment, it confuses me.  We care so much about not offending people of certain skin colors, genders, etc yet no one thinks twice about staring at a tall person and asking them if they play basketball.  And nothing is built for tall people.  When do we get our "equality" and "fairness"?

Haha.  Yeah there are big and tall stores...that still never have my size in stock.

You could at least, technically speaking, purchase clothes that would fit your body, right?  Because taller people would have been your size at one point in their life, so the clothes exist.  Unless I'm wrong here!  But I find it to be a different kind of challenge when the size simply doesn't exist, except for the extremely limited selection found online or in specific stores.  It makes it very difficult to not look goofy (nothing is fitted properly).

inb4 everyone complains about their problems shopping for clothes   :))

You should just give tbc some inches and it'll all be good.
You two can even go shopping for the same clothes after you've finished.

My newly-transgender friend has all of a sudden become very un-conservative. It's actually really frustrating.

On a completely unrelated note, 50 Shades of Grey is awful.

You just did, I'm very conservative but I believe that as long as you aren't hurting anyone then you do you.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

I tend to read Geekhack and browse books.

Have I been doing it wrong?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The car is still at the dealer since they're putting new tires on it in a few days, so all I have is a pic from the dealer's listing.

Sorry, I was buying a car.  :(
Pics?

That is acceptable.  What did you get?

The car is still at the dealer since they're putting new tires on it in a few days, so all I have is a pic from the dealer's listing.

Nice choice, you got it in stick right?  ;)
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

:-[   I need something more rugged and reliable than a MkII right now.  :|  In a few years when I pay off my student loans and can afford a second car, I'll get a MkII.   ^-^

What kind of teacher doesn't round that up?  And I speak as someone who was a bit of a hardass TA at times in college.

I don't have kids.  :|  I have too much height for a regular car, and I have a use for space.  So it's either something like this or a truck.  :P

Or could get a smaller car, remove driver's set, and place posterior on the rear seat to drive.

The ****heads across the road were at it again last night.

2:15am about a dozen of them were out on the footpath shouting and carrying on for about 10 minutes.

Then they slammed all their car doors and drove off.

I'm beginning to wonder whether they ever sleep.
