seeing people walk away with 4 beautiful caps stings a little bit

Yeah.. I only put in for the 'Anada Bro, which I knew gave me very poor odds.  Still sad I didn't win!

After lurking for quite some time, this raffle has convinced me to make an account and participate a little finally. Good luck to everyone!

I keep checking my email, frantically hoping for a new notification.. but alas, it seems my luck has escaped me. 0/4 now. :( oh well, better luck next time I suppose! I think it's at least good that these raffles are random, instead of being sold to the first people who manage to get to them first.

For those not sure if you have won or not, you can login to the [CTRL]ALT web site and see the status of your ticket.

If you have won, it should say "winner" next to the ticket number.

And if you did win, congratulations, and keep a sharp lookout for the PayPal invoice as you have only 24 hours to pay it!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It's unique, hilarious, cool, and just plain fun to win a chance to buy something.

Outside of these sales, can anyone think of another raffle-to-buy IRL? Just curious.
Craft beer works like this sometimes... this year the Bruery had a lottery/raffle for the chance to purchase their Black Tuesday beer (which of course I did not win.)

good lord i just want an fn set
I just wanna touch it, texture looks so nice... I can't complain as I have some Bro Caps and many do not, but daaaaaymn would I pay good money for a Fn key!!

I've lost count of the number of sales I've missed due to time zone differences, the number of draws I've entered without success - after a while you do get used to it, and that buzz of excitement as you submit your entry wears off slightly.

But the joy of winning never changes :)

Lost again, in one year I managed to get ZERO (and this goes also for CC), no luck in raffles, no luck in giveaways and to make it more interesting V2 will be discontinued and so far the other designs don't appeal to me, they are good but I don't see them on any of my boards.
I guess one more chance for a V2

And to be a sorry ass loser :D happy hoarding to the winners ( some seem to have some lucky star and win almost every time) :P

With the old email system, I won everything I entered that *didn't* have to do with the toxic theme (although I only entered a few).

With the new raffle system, I have never won a thing. Not a huge deal to me really, I just look specifically for caps which match keycap sets I have.

Raffles are more fair to everyone even new members and giving bro-less a chance seems to be how Bro Caps and Bunny preferred, which is a just cause. I'd imagine that is how GH can grow with more new people joining the community. Be patient, one day you'll get lucky!!!

Not a big deal for me too. In fact each time I lost in a raffle I got something else for that money, which had more value for me so in the end I still win. But, I would really want to win one BB, don't care for more, in fact don't care about artisan caps, most of them don't fit my boards and keeping them in a box is a shame, is just feckin' hoarding, so I either sold or gifted mine.
I only hope I get lucky before V2 is retired because I don't care about the other stuff.

I got lucky and won a few on the old system, but have yet to win **** on this raffle style after six attempts.  Wonder how the winners are being determined?

The reason why it seems harder to win in the raffle system is because there are WAY more entries. They're usually open for like 24 hours minimum compared to the minute window that people have to send the mail. As an international user I'm very grateful for raffles, us guys on the other end of the globe usually get shafted when it comes to email draws.

For example the last email draw I participated in and won I actually had to send the email 6 seconds early to account for latency. Means most people living out of the US without the right technical skills are **** out of luck usually.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I had to send it from my school e-mail 1.5 seconds early. That was the only way for me to ever get through. Started sending from my school e-mail after I missed out a few times sending immediately at 0, and just chose a time to send at. 1.5 seemed to be the sweet spot.

Damn. I need therapy. I've had pretty crappy Brocaps luck lately. Missed the "missed it sale" too.

With the Icestorm (second release today) keycaps - if I haven't received a winning confirmation by now should I assume I didn't win?

Check your ticket on the Ctrl.Alt site. But yeah if you haven't got an email yet you're probably not a winner.

I think we should refer to these events as just raffles, not sales. For new people to the community a sale indicates that something can be purchased.

Also yes, I am salty.

It feels more like a combination of both sale and raffle. Raffle for the chance of a sale. So I guess in that sense, raffle is more correct.

Yeah, that's why I asked. My ticket hasn't updated at all since it was submitted. Like you mentioned, I am assuming that means I did NOT win but wanted to ask just in case. This is my first raffle attempt so I knew I didn't have much of a chance  ;D

If you don't win the ticket remains in submited status, I know very well, I have 7 of them at least.
But unlucky in raffles lucky in so many other ways. I received today 2 packages from Korea one from SPRiT and one from GON so I'm a happy camper

One thing I like about BB raffles is that each time I loose and each time I get something else that's even better, so I can keep on loosing :D

I have to agree, although I was quite lucky in the past v2 sales, I am yet to get into a clack sale and I am pretty sure it's down to latency.

When do we find out if we got in? I submitted seconds after the sale went up and haven't heard anything yet.
