I suppose if someone had one of the full size boards with an aftermarket programmable controller they could emulate that....

Seems like it'd take a while to learn though.

And would tie you down to just that keyboard, then any time you used a different keyboard you would need to unlearn and lose time.

I think it costs that much because people with disabilities usually buy it which means they're billing it to insurance. So naturally, prices get inflated. Other people's money, eh?

Also, couldn't the same be said about most custom layouts or features tying you down to using those types of keyboards only?

Try to be observant and count how many times do you press Copy, Cut, Paste for a day. You will realize you press Backspace and stare mindlessly at the screen most of the time.

I used to be one 15 years ago. To be objective, you can use any key counter program to check for a whole day. You will be surprised with the results.
