Any hints on what's coming september 20th?

Yes. I may be able to get a very limited number of CARBON FIBER plates. Crazy expensive, but I know some of you like it so why not.

Haha. Something cool. Not everybody will like it, but people who are into premium parts will probably enjoy. Also, they are going to be limited because of the price increase.

ordered a plate, thanks!

this is a long shot, but on the chance that there are any pcbs left over, would it be possible to purchase those and have their shipping combined with the plate, like in the original group buy?

Hey, I just want to say that I really appreciate the transparency with which you conducted this GB. It's awesome that you continually update with frequent emails, even when the news isn't great, and that you maintain the spreadsheet with very specific progress for every participant. Also, super fast turnaround times! Really excellent execution. Thanks!  :thumb:

Not sure before the GB is done. Really just want to sell my own parts before the GB is over because i can get more of those. The SPRiT parts on the other hand, only SPRiT can deliver.

So what cases are you all going with?

I'm not ready to dish out for a Tex just yet, and the suggested one from Aliexpress gives me pause.

Has anyone used this case? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Gh60-kit-mechanical-keyboard-poker2-pcb-diy-mechanical-keyboard-liner-gh60-metal-shell/32260922859.html Looks decent for the price.

Another option is this Vortex https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1002 but I can't tell if it's cast plastic or a metal of some kind.

This is my first build so I am a little nervous about picking the best parts.

Thanks for any input in advance!

The first one (red aliexpress) has been seen at massdrop here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/60-keyboard-case

The Vortex one is cast aluminum. Plastic would be "molded". I'm fairly certain it's the same one seen on some Pok3rs.

Damn that aluminium case looks nice

I got the linked aliexpress case to save some money. You can also get it in clear, wish I knew before I ordered the white one :P I'll think I'll upgrade my case later to something better looking and feeling. Thinking wood or aluminium. But for know I'm waiting for all the components to get here and hoping I don't have to pay too much import tax and import handling fees.

Aside from this groupbuy I'm waiting on my:
  • zealio purple switches
  • vortex backlit white keycaps
  • sip sockets (to easily change leds)
So it will take a while before everything is here, probably somewhere next month.

Yes, that's the same one that's on the Pok3rs. I little heavy and thick for my taste, I personally prefer the minimalist Texs in terms of alu cases, but it's all up to preference.

TEX 60% Acrylic Machined Case with Aluminum feet.

The acrylic is very solid and the backlighting of the case with the SPiRiT PCBs is just a perfect combination.

So I have a Purple Plate and the JTKeycaps debut Cherry profile Purple and White caps. So Planning on doing a Purple LED backlight on the keys.

@LeanderN: do you have any plans for some nice 60% cases too ? Something simple in alu ? For example a layered sandwich one ? The company who made the plates should be able to make something like that too  I've always wanted something like the SPRiT acryl case where only the bottom is acryl and the top layer is anodized alu , something like that should be not very expensive and would look pretty sick

Speaking of cases, I ordered this nice looking acrylic case on Ali Express.

I am also a member of Ivan's RS84v3 group buy that ran in parallel to this group buy. That 60% case I linked looks similar to the case included in the RS84 kit. I can't wait!

Again, I would like to thank you LeandreN for the frequent updates. All those emails, the many posts here on the thread, I know those take time. I greatly appreciate you going the extra mile to provide world class communication and service that puts a very specific professional website to shame ( o.0 ).

Keep it up mate!  ;D

Got my package today, I'm more than happy, this was a really smooth GB and the result is awesome. The plate wasn't bent at all, even if in my photo it looks a little on the pink side it's a perfect brilliant purple. The quality is very good and the design is awesome, JD knows his plates  :thumb:
Big thank you for this GB, the plate will go with a GH60, after I get it :)

And done

Only issue I have is that my space bar and backspace are really mushy and feel like they are getting stuck on the downstroke is that a issue with GMK sets or gateron switches otherwise everything is super, just those two switches when pressed are horrible :X but nothing you did :p otherwise great groupbuy and very happy with how everything is.

Sorry if this was asked before, but when are the plates bought through your shop going to be shipped?
