Geekhack therapy
« on: Tue, 22 September 2015, 18:54:29 »
Welp, between drama about artisans and drama between other members for mostly stupid ****e. Now we can all ***** and complain in one thread. Let it out, and let everyone know, as some people want it heard far and wide.

Geekhack is a therapy forum in disguise.

Two days ago I had to forfeit one of the extra hyperfuse sets due to not being able to put money towards the hobby at the moment.  :'(

It was one of the more sad moments, I was so exited to have a chance at getting a set. But 'tis is life.

Classic Beige didn't happen :( I'm hoping I can get into SKIDATA+ and that some of the RGBYK mods will go with it.

Also, I still don't know where this *****ing and stuff is happening. Or who it's between. All I know is that Demik isn't around at the moment.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I have felt myself becoming more negative lately, and I think I know why(unrelated to GH).  I'm am no longer going to focus on the negative things that happen around here, and only the good things.  This community has so many generous and kind people, and sometimes I lose sight of that.

I suspect some **** talking is directed at me. Selling some Brobots for profit, not because I want to but because I have to. Living in Perth is expensive as **** (one of the most expensive cities on earth) and after moving into my own place earlier this month I've discovered just how hard it is living on your own.

It's not something I'm proud of but I don't have a lot of choice in the matter, well aware of the consequences for my actions with bans and such. If people want to look down on me for it then there's not a lot I can do about it, I do feel like a lot of the newer members should probably shut the hell up though. Most of the people talking **** wouldn't have a clue how much stuff I've given away over the years (Artisan caps, sets, other stuff).
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

It's your life. It's your stuff. People want to buy stuff off you for the prices you set. You are honest about it.

People who go on vendettas and chase down people who do what you did are pretty sad. It doesn't achieve anything. People selling them for profit don't really do anything more to the artisan market than it does to itself already.

Therapy for those under 6'3" and lack of bushy beard

Do we need a therapy thread for short people?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't know THAT!

See, that's the beauty. STAY OUT OF CLASSIFIEDS all of you and you don't need Therapy no more!
But you still get clacks?

Very busy with studies atm.

I don't watch Classifieds but I still look at Spy. And my trades are just coincidental - on other timing, I could have totally missed it. Oft times, these are just pure luck! The right cap appearing at Spy when I was watching - admittedly, I do spend a lot of time in Spy, so if some good classified threads was posted when I was in bed, I would not have any idea at all. And most of these sales and drama like to happen while I am asleep!  :-X

This is happening to me too
I woke up with lots of replies in a thread I participated before sleep, missing all the fun and interactions :(

But while I'm on it, nothing is happening since people are mostly asleep

I missed a wave of GMK GBs, now all I see are ICs for SA profile sets... while I like SA, I want a Cherry profile set :(

I'm in for SKIDATA+ but I'm hoping it doesn't conflict with the SNES set
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I wish I had stuff to trade! I have all kinds of stuff I want....but nothing to trade for it. I try to only go in for stuff I like so that other people can get a better chance at getting something they want, as opposed to the more prevalent "all in" style. However, I'm realizing that if I had stuff I'd be willing to trade I may very well one day get that Mummy or Hoot I've been after. Or the Monkey by Booper (those are so adorable).  Oh woe is me.  :(

Actually, I'd be lying if I didn't say that part of the fun is that things aren't always easy to get. It makes it more of an achievement when I actually get it, ergo I like it more.

P.S. I also do not drink alcohol. If we ever get to a meetup together we can be non-drinking buddies. :)
