About Assembly options:

We can support you with:

* Switches:

- All kinds of new Cherry Switches and Gaterons.
- Zealios Round 5: we can order from Zeal for you, but only arrive in April/May.
- MOD-H (from Originative): we can order them for you, but we never have them in hand, so we do not know about quality and other things.
- Cherry Black from Wyse keyboard: 90s vintage cherry blacks. After desoldering, all switches will be cleaned by Ultrasonic, then tune with Dupont Krytox Lube. (mixed 103 and 205)
- Chery Black from Cherry G80-0577: true 80s vintage blacks, Screw in stabs, fully cleaned and tuned
- Cherry MX Clears from Cherry G80-8000.

Old Cherry switches only available for orders with full tuning (lube, spring swap, w or w/o stickers, hotswap LEDs) and not for sale separately. We only use Krytox lube, mixing from 103 and 205.

* Stabilizer:
 - Original Cherry PCB mount Stab
- Zeal Transparent Gold PCB mount (need to wait for GB)
- Sprit Gold Stab PCB mount
- and we may have some GMK screw stab PCB mount left. We do not test them yet, can not say about the quality and feeling.

* Springs:
all kinds from Sprit inlucde steel and gold and winkeyless.kr springs (sorry, no GON spring).

About timing: We can only start assembling when we receive plates and PCBs from the factory. It means that you have to wait longer than buyers who only order DIY kit. It takes about 2 days for soldering and testing for each board (and longer for the boards that require lubing switches). All keyboards using Zealios have to wait until Zealpc send out Round5. So you'll have to wait 1 week to 4 weeks depends on your order number on the list.

We will also have a speadsheet to update the assembly process.

welcome to E8-V1 GB.

We can offer Gateron tuning, but it waste money and time.

Our PCB use BootMapper Client for keymap and drive RGB LEDs.

White (or similar color): still waiting factory confirm  :(.

both of you are on waiting list  :p

now you still can change your mind, or take a slot on waiting list. Maybe we will have some Wyse board  extra.

can any vintage blacks expert please enlighten us plebs on the finer differences between 80s and 90s switches?

Basically, around 1994-1995, Cherry (they have officially confirmed this) changed the material used for the switches. Typically, switches made in the 1980's are considered vintage since these are all before the material change. Ones afterwards are still smooth, but not on the same level as the 1980 ones. However, there are some occasional ones from 1996 which are also very smooth which makes sense as a lot of the vintage boards were not consistent and often time had a mix of switches. Many people claim that the logo is the best indicator of a vintage switch, as in big logo = vintage. I find this to be false and even chyrosran has a video where he disproves this. The best indicator is PCB date, and even still there are some outliers. Hopefully this helped.

thank you so much  :-*

infact, all our wyse board was made beforce 1996, so after tuning, it same with vintage 80s, except the big logo on the top. We will try to have some picture when we have time.

Really? I have never tried gateron browns before and now you've got me curious why you'd think it's a waste of time.

Would you also happen to have tactile gateron clears as an option, and is there any way I could verify that my order went through?

Sorry for the dumb questions, thanks!

What? Do you mean it needs more money and time or lubing isnt necessary for gateron?

Don't quote me on it, but I think I've read that lubricating brand new Gaterons doesn't really make them smoother.  They are supposed to be fairly smooth already.  (I have no personal experience with Gaterons other than 2 sample Zealios switches).

I've heard that lubing them makes a slight difference in terms of feel, but huge difference in terms of sound. From what I've heard in typing videos, lubed gaterons seem to be really quiet!

Hey there, please check your order here: https://goo.gl/ghB1IL to see if there is any mistake before invoices are going out!

Regarding shipping cost, after talking with some guys over at DHL, it turns out the shipping cost will be way more expensive than what I was told earlier. After considering all the options, I decided to go with EMS (vnpost will be much cheaper but also way too slow and impossible to track outside of VN). Apologies for the small price hike in shipping.

I'm still working with the assembler guy and will update the exact quote on assembly fees and reply to all your pms/questions soon. Cheers.

1. Founders Edition is forced to use BRASS Counterweight. If you want to get another Aluminium RED Counterweight, please get it as extra.  :p
2. Your custom text is too long. It should be less than 22 characters.  :D

Just updated my order (keponii). How do you edit the engraving for the non-extra name plates? I wanted the dark grey one to be blank and have the red (non-extra) one be custom engraved.

I edited it to "NOTGLACIER (red plate) , E8-V1 (silver plate)" just in case!

Thanks!

I also updated my order. If White/Beige goes through, I would want to change to one of those, so lmk if that ever happens.

Just updated the form again (keponii - reddit), I corrected a typo and added another name plate.
