I would dig a tri-color Skull for my ESC and 4 translucent(please gods of keycaps) splat keys for my WASD. Cherry MX. It would look stunning on my newly aqquired blackwidow ultimate.

Cherry or Topre.

I'm not seeing it on that list, I only see the first few designs and they are all sold out.

Just to rehash what has been said in the thread, will clickclack continue to produce the keycaps, or will this phase out and arise again when Unicomp start shipping Space Savers again?

I managed to find a source for the tri-color keycaps but they are much more expensive than what Elitekeyboards are offering.. almost US$8-10 extra for each key.

People like you make the mech keyboard hobby look so expensive... And awesome. As of now, I'm considering a Deck 82 or Legend(I'm on a Saitek Cyborg and love the lighting), and I would definitely want to get my hands on some of those cobalt or titanium caps, especially if they had lettering on them, or if there was an opaque lettering embedded into them to let the light through.

Also, first post of mine.

A mech keyboard hobby has always two sides of the $ question. It can also be very rewarding for scavenging very capable, sturdy and classic keyboards for cheap (or nothing), plus the added fun of restoring them. It's only when you go full bling that things get astronomically expensive.

Does SP produce gold coloured keycaps (like the gold skull)?

But I'm afraid that there's no plastic in the earth that can produce that glow. Or is it just a matter of coating?

Excluding the high relief skull shape, so that's just a normal plastic keycap + some fancy paint? Or is it a more complex coating?

What about the Ti caps? Is it legit or just coating too?

Legit. Pure titanium and or pure aluminum keycaps. All the metal keycaps posted on this site are completely metal just with different looks in regards to blasting or polishing, it's not plastic or any painting.

Ok. I would guess Al since Ti is most likely much more expensive.

So I have a few questions:
  • Where can we find metal keycaps?
  • Where can we find complete physical specification of Filco/KBC/Das/Rosewill keycaps?

Will any of these ever be available again? Man some of the prototypes are just to cool to never be produced. I think most people here are willing to pay quite the premium for these keys as can be seen  in the classified section where they have gone anywhere from 25$ - 105$.
So there is obviously a market for a batch of them. Maybe an expensive Limited Edition hint hint

I feel the same way sometimes and I actually have some amazing keys of his!
I think whenever his new job settles down he will present us with more awesome keycaps (I hope). He had some amazing prototypes in the works before his new job and I would be really sad if he didn't get to make them. Maybe we can threaten him? What is he scared of? Aside from overwhelming emails? Maybe different incentives are in order... how about sexy tricks?
We will touch you in all the right ways clickclack if you make more keys. Pleasure for keycaps seems reasonable, thoughts?

Group Orders?

Hello world!

Firstly I'd like to thank the gh community for this great forum, which has been invaluable in my ongoing search for a mechanical keyboard. I, and it seems just about everyone else who has seen them, instantly fell in love with these custom keys. Awesome work clickclack.

Given that clickclack will most likely be away from this project for a while, does anyone think he might let us do group orders directly from the manufacturer? And if not does anyone know who made them? I'd definitely spring for some custom keys of my own design if I can't use his.

Thanks,
Nevin
