14 September 2020 UPDATE

Unfortunatly, the shipment schedule is shifted once again due to the packages with PCBs are stuck in Poland.
We are working closely with the both factory and the shiping forwarder to solve this delay. We are monitoring the situation.
You can see the screenshots of our conversations with the factory representative regarding the issue down below.

We are deeply sorry for all the trouble this delay might have caused you.

On the bright side, however, the cases and the plates are ready. We will share the photos of them in the coming days.

It would probably be a good idea to make posts on the MechanicalKeyboards, MechMarket, and MechGroupBuys subreddits for some extra visibility. I haven't seen any for this GB there yet.

Hi, sorry if this is a silly question -- If I get an extra PCB, that means I can switch between Alpha and Beta layouts?

Yes, this can be done by replacing the PCB.

Nice. I like the layout options. Will the case be made in the Ukraine in its entirety? CNC, cerakoting etc?

Yes. The body will be completely made there. POM plate is most likely in Italy.

I'm debating getting a Taro set to go with the yellow version of this. Haven't bought a GMK set yet, but I think that color palette would look really good with a yellow case. Opinions?

Would it be possible to add renders of the all the available color options? I think that might help people who are on the fence decide if they want to buy.
Also, it might be a good idea to show keycaps with legends instead of blank ones to eliminate confusion about the layout.

This is a variant of the layout similar to CandyBar. but with a different approach. And with a new design solution

I'm surprised. It's common to ask permission before running a clone or "inspired by" design like this - see all the Alice clones. Permission was sought and granted.

Frankly IDGAF. It was a novel design, and you've duplicated 90%+ of it. It's not like you did another riff on a TKL.

I wonder what the reaction would be if TKC announced Infinikey Hyperfuse tomorrow...?

There’s only so many possible layouts. If people had to ask permission for every keyboard with a similar layout, it would basically be every single new keyboard. Frankly I don’t see any issues, the candy bar GB is over and even if not, you don’t have a patent on a layout. He already said he was inspired by the candybar and gave credit there, I don’t see any issue.

Fact of the matter is there's only so many ways to design a rectangular keyboard. The layouts are the same yes, but there are many new keyboards with the same layouts but other changes.

So because a 40% with a numpad exists, it's not ok to design another one? No one has to get permission from the designer of the first 40%, 60%, 65%, 1800, etc. in order to design a new one of those.

Besides, the case design is different, the mounting points are different, the spacebar layout options are different, there's an indicator LED, the color options are different, it's Cerakoted instead of anodized, and even the aluminum alloy the case is made of is different.

It's ok to have options in the market. The layout the Candybar uses isn't patented, and this keyboard isn't a clone of that anyway.

Bruh, did you even look at the IC? Don't come here with that attitude of "idgaf". Inspiration is inspiration. If TKC had a problem, wouldn't they have contacted when the IC was up? Not now, when the GB is running.

Those boards date back to the 80s and TKC is based in the US. If they were patented, the patents expired after 20 years.

Funny how the goalposts moved from right to legal in short order. I never once said it was illegal for you to do what you are doing. Just that it's not right.

I like your company and products, don't get me wrong, but I disagree with your notion that someone using the same layout as one of your group buys should ask your permission first. I have no way of checking, but I'm willing to bet you were not the first person/group to think of a 40% keyboard with a numpad.

There are substantial differences in this keyboard and your own, I don't think every single new keyboard design should have to "ask" permission from other keyboard designers just for using the same layout.

I think it's best if we stick to the topic at hand, which is this group buy.

Obviously, TKC is allowed to believe that they should have been asked for permission, that is their right. However, it is irrelevant to this group buy and we should try to stay on topic. I believe some people had requested renders of the proposed colors if possible.
