This looks like a really well designed TKL.  Interested to see how a prototype feels and sounds.  Watching with interest.

Will it support split backspace?

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I don't see why not...I'll ask them to add this in the next revision of renders.
Would also be interested in split backspace.

The Chinese GB is running from Sep. 8th to 11th.
We encourage you to avoid the Chinese GB and wait for the international GB to avoid possible communication and shipping problems.

The international GB will launch once we think it is ready and will be hosted on our website https://percent.studio/
...

Why do you run GBs for the Chinese market first? Do your Chinese buyers have to accept a lower level of quality assurance? Or do we have to accept some nationalistic favouritism? This is probably a false dichotomy, I genuinely don't understand.

That's offensive man. It's because you probably never ran a business. Is it a must for a small scale business to go international at all stages of their business? Let alone it's an unlimited GB. Imagine the scale it would be if they put this out globally, especially for a well designed product like this. They are doing the smart thing by pushing out in stages for better QC not the other way around. I don't understand how you can tie that to favouritism.

No, the PCB is totally different.
We have abandoned the firmware of Volt and went to QMK

Will the Casio colorway be part of the international group-buy? I'm based in the USA and am totally in (I will be getting the Skog-reboot not matter what, but want the Casio very much).

Since the Casio is limited, how will you guys handle the process of picking that colorway? Premium pricing or raffle/lottery? (I'm hoping for just paying extra or something). How will we select the Casio colorway in the group buy?

Also, will there be other knobs available or just the standard and the casio?

Casio will be part of the int'l GB, limited though. It will be FCFS and the same price as the others.
Additional knobs will also be available, looking to do 1-2 knobs from the zFrontier contest and 1-2 from the Geekhack contest.

Submitted the PRK (Percent Rotary Knob)

I'm not a fan of brand logo on the top, but in this case i find your logo perfect for the knob, where the bottom of the branch of the logo is the pointer of the rotary knob :)  (also consider that the knob is in fact very small)

There are 2 versions of it, the difference is just the flat vs angled leg of the "pointer" (the bottom of the branch)

Edit (3 more renders from different angles):

Here's my submission.

I call it the Grippe knob, designed with ridges so it's grippy enough for use with one finger.

... so anyways, I was told I could only submit one design. But I already made two, so I figured I might as well share it here anyway.

I have a submission for the knobs as well. I can't do fancy renders like you guys, so I did my best drawing my ideas.

And a description of my idea:

Originally, I had the idea of making artisan "caps" for the rotary encoder. I drew a few fun designs, but I know that it would be hard to implement in a mass scale. While drawing the designs on the left, however, I had the idea of "what if we made a rotary knob that had a standard mx shaped stem on it?".

I don't know the dimensions of a rotary encoder, so there would have to probably some modifications (eg. making the knob taller), but the idea is to have an mx stem mount on the knob, so you can attach your own artisan keycaps or even make your own traditionally shaped knob with an mx mount.

Hope you like my doodles! :)

Submission for rotary knob - Triskelion Rotary Knob. Not an original design, however, I thought one of the many meanings of the symbol - rebirth - fit well with the Skog-reboot. It's an ancient Celtic symbol (feel free to look it up). Excuse my poor sketch (symbol would be etched in, similar to other user's design), but I can't 3D model anything (no doubt it could be made better). For what it's worth, I like the one above using the studio logo - super well done.

Gregcoder!! Though as a coder, I would love it if we could have a rubber duck on the knob: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging

Not a designer, can't draw well, someone draw a duck on the knob?

Will wait for the GB to start

Update: with the danger of being laughed at, here's mine:

Submission for rotary knob - Triskelion Rotary Knob. Not an original design, however, I thought one of the many meanings of the symbol - rebirth - fit well with the Skog-reboot. It's an ancient Celtic symbol (feel free to look it up). Excuse my poor sketch (symbol would be etched in, similar to other user's design), but I can't 3D model anything (no doubt it could be made better). For what it's worth, I like the one above using the studio logo - super well done.

As someone from a celtic nation, I really want this one!

I submitted "The Droplet" knob design.

I noticed that in the original renders, the knob looked small, squished, and close to the TKL cluster. As I tried to mimic the rotation of such a knob by holding it on the sides, I noticed that I would bump into the keycaps and be unable to complete a full rotation. So, my design takes into consideration the: "if you can't rotate it from the sides, you must rotate it from the top." The namesake of the knob comes from the shape of the indent at the top. The droplet shape, purposely larger and more indented on one side, allows the user's finger to rotate the knob from above as the finger settles in the concave region away from the center of rotation. This allows for quick and continuous one fingered use. A tactile bump is also included on the wider side of the indent so that someone doesn't accidentally try to use the narrower/shallower side of the indent. This knob has the same proportional height as the file included, but takes the cylinder all the way up to the top height, where there is a slight chamfer on the edges.
I did try to model the knob on a computer, but I am only slightly proficient in tinkercad, which is why the files are far from perfect (indent depth, seams).
