Any idea yet on number of boards that will be available FCFS?

I need to control my excitement and expectations as I have yet to succeed on any FCFS group buy so far :)

Penguins are in my list of favorite animals. And that navy blue just looks so mint. I hope Mykeyboard.eu will have enough in stick once the GB goes live. Can't wait.

curious as to why sandblasted brass sides were used instead of polished brass for the gentoo, something that really catches my eye when I saw the adelie was the shiny brass/ pvd brass sides

I would assume because of fingerprints. Personally I don't mind it.

Personally I prefer sandblasted. PVD coating gets scratched eventually.

Is there a Discord channel to follow on this? Really hoping the GB launches. I missed out on Adelie. Will definitely jump in on this one.

I have not found a Discord for this. I did read in a post on Reddit that a lot of Adelie discussion happened on the Cannon Keys Discord, but I think that was only once the group buy had begun.

Big fan of the aesthetics. I own an Adélie but when I´m using it I really miss the numberrow, Think this board will fit my needs better.
I really like the inclution of a green version, however, I would prefer stainless sides so I'm wondering if side accents will be offered as addon.
Hotswap PCB would be nice.

See

After some discussion, Deskhero will be our Canadian vendor. Additionally, weights will be offered as extras for the group buy. As for the amount of variability, that cannot be specified yet.

I now have a functioning prototype in hand, programmed and all though is not in any of the group buy colors. VIA is already set up, Cannon Keys is working on a hotswap version of the PCB.

Some changes need to be made before another round of protos in which we will be getting one in each of the group buy colors for photos.

Thanks for checking in on this, I am excited for movement on this board.

Also hoping this time around the final colors are closer to the renders. In Adelie both the navy and red turned out to be significantly less saturated than the renders, especially the red which turned out to be probably a good 3 shades lighter than the gorgeous deep red in the renders.
For that reason I may stay away from the navy this time. Green caught my eye but I'm also hoping it won't turn out much lighter than the renders.

Ha. You’re right.  I saw “around 250 US” and thought, “holy crap, how is he making them so cheap?”

250 units is good news though.  Not impossible to snag!

On closer inspection they would actually only be 248: 250 in total minus mine and yours...

For this reason we try to use proto pictures for group buy photos. While they may not match the renders there shouldn't be any misleading about what you will get when you are participating in the groupbuy.

Looks great but please don't use Cannonkeys as a vendor in the US.  That checkout system is like a fresh dog turd sitting in the hot sun.  (Andrew is probably compelled to pop in and say "no checkout system is perfect").

I have just spoken with Upas this weekend and he is working hard to see that this group buy can happen either at the end of this month or beginning of next month!

I have some proto pictures I'll be posting shortly on here and other mediums.

We are considering making all color options matte brass accents by default with PVD gold and silver available as add-on kits.

Surface level, I'd like to know what you all think of that.

I understand that this is probably easier from a logistical perspective.
But I'm not a fan, I prefer the solution that the Chapter 1 had, where you could just choose any weight you wanted

These types of add-on can get very expensive, and I feel that if people get these, most will just leave the default one in the box after replacing it which just feels like a waste.

100% agree.
I was looking very specifically for black with SS weights and if I have to pay extra for one, it kind of makes me question whether I would want to go in for this.

Agree on the above mostly on the basis of cost, but also to reduce the waste that would be generated from people swapping out for their preferred combo and never touching the defaults.

Unless the hotswap PCB supports multiple layouts, also not a fan of not being able to choose our own default PCB.
I want my stepped caps, split BS and choice of bottom row without having to buy 2 extra PCB (1 for safety) and never touching the hotswap one.

100% agree with Abec13.

I'm not sure if this is intentional but this will certainly alienate a lot of the international ISO users...it certainly will for me.
Unless and this is a big UNLESS, the default hotswap PCB includes support with multiple lay-out options.

This is so unique and nice. I liked very much the design on the Adélie but the layout wasn't for me, but this is perfect! One of the most interesting keyboards of the last year, can't wait!

I'm not sure if you replied this already, but would you consider by any chance to mix and match other colors too? For example PVD +white or PVD + Navy?
Would you consider plate/case foam to make it sound even better, maybe as a separate extra price? I would be interested in this as well.

Casting my voice along with CookieFlow's. Unless hot swap supports multiple layouts or there are multiple hotswap options available (which would seem to negate the point in making them the default), it's unnecessarily limiting.

I realise we're getting a bit close to the wire for these arguments to change anything at this point, but I thought I might as well add my voice to the chorus for whatever it's worth.

i feel that the 65% market is getting a bit too inflated, would like to see more arisu/alice layout boards or 1800's. Still no hate to this board I really like the design
