What will it take for NOIR/GLIDER to make it. I'll order more if I have to.

NOIR/GLIDER.....................2
NOIR/GLIDERESC.................24
NOIR/GLIDER125.................12
CHERRYBLACK.....................8
CHERRYBLACK150.................50

It seems there is too much good white on black stuff to kill it.

But BLOOD will be removed.

In order to bring up the number of keys ordered, I've added a new kit:

It is a cheap replacement kit and comes in both colors of the 2-color-schemes (SPH, ROUND3, RETRO).

So you can have an all white on very dark grey keyboard without ordering the upcomming ROUND3/TKL/BLACK etc.

SPH/ALPHA white on grey
SPH/ALPHA/BLUE white on blue
ROUND3/ALPHA white on grey
ROUND3/ALPHA/BLACK white on very dark grey
RETRO/ALPHA lightblue on lightgrey
RETRO/ALPHA/GREY lightblue on darkgrey

Next to come:
SPH kit which contains round 3 replacements for keys != row 3.

"It seems there is too much good white on black stuff to kill it." Exactly!! :P

So... Would all-SVG kits in existing color schemes actually be helpful? (if they'd get enough orders, obviously)  Not that I could make one, but some for sure could.

They don't contribute enough keys.

Also, new graphics cost $45 setup fee.

I've added

orange on very dark grey GAMER kit for ROUND3:
ROUND3/GAMER/ORANGE

It is the same color-scheme as ORANJE, so it will help to bring the quantities up.

Also, you can now order things like:
SPH/TERMINAL/BLUE
ROUND3/STANDARD/BLACK
RETRO/TENKLESS/GREY

To get:
white on blue
white on very dark grey
lightblue on dark grey

First of all I need to reduce the color-choices.

I've thrown out ROUND3/GAMER/ORANGE and ROUND3/GAMER/BLUE.

You can have ROUND3/GAMER/GREY and ROUND3/GAMER/BLACK instead.

There will be no ROUND3/RGB keys.

If we keep ORANJE style, there could be ROUND/GAMER in orange on very dark grey, because these have the same colors.

There will be 2 new kits for ROUND3 with white on very dark grey A-Z and punctuation keys.

It is most likely, I throw out the BLOOD style.

I'm currently unsure about NOIR ....

Because the number of different labes does not so much influence the price, lower quantities will more likely be produced.

So there will be all language choices available including BEPO, NEO and alike.

I will also offer row 3 sphericals for both the numpad and A-Z keys, to have an all-row-3 layout.

So, I am trying to figure out this new way of looking at the number of colors instead of styles to be able to keep a kit around or not. For example, keeping the ROUND3/GAMER/ORANGE because its helps the OJANGE/GAMER. Following that line of thought, I see that light blue (BBJ) is use in the RETRO style for the RETRO/RGB/WHITE and the RETRO/RGBY/WHITE and maybe also RETRO/GAMER/WHITE/BLUE? If I am not mistaken those would all contain white on light blue (BBJ). So I was thinking, couldn't ROUND3/GAMER/BLUE be white on light blue (BBJ) and so help all those other kits survive color wise?

Thanks for seeing if that's possible!  :D

Lol, I have 24 on noir/glideresc and 10 an noir/glider125 :p I keep upping the quantities everytime a paycheck comes in.

Hmm, SPH/ALPHA seems interesting. I just wish I could test out SPH keys first. Maybe I'll just order round3/alpha instead.

ROUND3/GAMER/ORANGE is now orange on very dark grey, the same color-scheme as ORANJE.

I've got to look into that RGB(Y)-color-mess to see what I can do. But a gamer kit does not contribute enough to make these prices go down. So RGBY and GAMER kits would both be quite expensive, pulling money out of the pockets of potential buyer which they can't use for cheaper volume stuff, which resuklts in higher overall prices.

Thanks 7bit, that was mainly the info I needed.
I got two questions :

1- Does that mean the shape is not that important in the overall price, I can then get blank sphericals with ROUND3 colors and assume the price will be lower anyway ?

2- Can you confirm I can make an order based on the rows indicated in the following picture :

Yeah, I figured that!

So, I'm guessing the discount rate is not as great due to a lower than expected number of orders?

I think this whole process would be strenuous for you no matter what and I appreciate your time and energy in it!  A more automated process for order selection would attract more participants in the future but I'm probably not saying anything anyone else hasn't already said in triplicate.  Though I can imagine one might view the additional work involved in picking out the set you'd like acts as a deterrent for less serious characters.

Hi,

will SPH be removed? If not, will the SPH/TENKLESS be available and what would it cost at the moment? I'm not sure about sphericals yet, so i'd order them to try out.

And if there's a Round 5, could you consider a spherical in brown / beige style?

No, the number of orders is as I expected, just SP does not want to lose thier pants another time. This time there is a security buffer covering potential errors.

The solution is:
Fewer colors and more orders!
[/b]

What we would need is something where you can click together all the kits and color options and then hit the "submit order"-button, like when you order stuff at amazon.com.

Maybe someone can set up something like that for the next time ...

Some minutes before I submit the order to Signature Plastics, you can add or remove anything you want. After that, you can only add stuff.

I hope I can send my order off by the end of the year....

I thought the whole idea for the Blood standard sets was to bolster keycap numbers? Originally Ragnorock was organising it wasn't he?

That was when I thought prices will be like round 3:
One price ber key-size, regardless of color.

Now, things are different.

Hi,

will SPH be removed? If not, will the SPH/TENKLESS be available and what would it cost at the moment? I'm not sure about sphericals yet, so i'd order them to try out.

And if there's a Round 5, could you consider a spherical in brown / beige style?

Sphericals are the cheapest!

- They can produce more 1 unit keys in one batch than cylindricals.
- Row 2 and row 4 are the same, just upside-down.
- Most of the keys will be row 3, which reduces the variations esp. for modifiers.
- This advantage is completeley compensated by the new space bars :-(

Nevertheless, SPH and RETRO are the most successful styles.

@7bit : Well noted, thanks.

And sorry too, I'll try to make myself clearer.
I would like to order blank function keys to add some color in my layout, but I am unsure yet of the row you will be using for them.
I was therefore wondering if the rows indicated on the SPH/TERMINAL picture are confirmed or not (like all function keys being row 3 and such). This is because a row number has to be indicated when ordering blanks.

We should not have asked for replacement of defective keys!

Things are like that. They need to earn money. We can't expect just becuase we are keyboard intusiasts, they sell them for nothing.

Real customers order 1000x 86 keys in one color and one style.

BTW:
Code: [Select]

RETRO/GAMER/BLUE 18 11 Gamer kit
RETRO/GAMER        41 25 Gamer kit (WASD keys etc.)
RETRO/GAMER/GREY 41 25 Gamer kit (WASD keys etc.)
RETRO/GAMERMINI 32 19 Gamer kit (WASD keys etc.)
RETRO/GAMERMINI/BLUE 32 19 Gamer kit (WASD keys etc.)
RETRO/GAMERMINI/GREY 32 19 Gamer kit (WASD keys etc.)
RETRO/WASD         4 3 WASD kit
RETRO/WASD/BLUE 4 3 WASD kit
RETRO/WASD/GREY 4 3 WASD kit

RETRO/GAMER is orange on lightgrey, maybe I should change this to RETRO/GAMER/ORANGE.

You all are right! My system is complicated and unobvious:-(

What we would need is something where you can click together all the kits and color options and then hit the "submit order"-button, like when you order stuff at amazon.com.

Maybe someone can set up something like that for the next time ...

I suggested long time ago back in round 3 that we could use one of those survey sites to do a "survey", but use the survey as a multiple choice order form.

I've got no the time to do this right now.

But if someone else is able to do it, I'd much appreciate.
