This is how my numpad is packed.  Please save and reuse packaging when you ship the tester to the next person.  The packaging makes it very easy to pack and ship, and the ensure safety of the tester :-)

1. numpad tester, small bubble bag, large bubble bag.

2. put numpad tester inside the small bubble bag.

3. put small bubble bag into large bubble bag

4. put large bubble bag into ziplock bag

5. put ziplock bag inside USPS priority mail box.

6. Close the USPS priority mail box.

7. mail it at your USPS office.  Must add delivery confirmation, AKA tracking.

I want in. I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

What else do I have to do?
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

Yup, litster has joined in.  He has all the switches that are on mine, plus tacto clears, a grey, and a green.  His numpad will be touring the west coast while mine goes back east.

I am damn serious about protection.  I am leading by example.  This is a triple-condom design!

Well, actually I just wanted a simple way for people to pack the tester for shipment safely and easily.

I am too, but I do have a 7 1/2 month old. I'll leave the protection implementation up to you litster :smirk: it is probably better that way.

No chance to just piggyback off the last guy in line? If I have to start off a Round 2 I have no issues with that, just sort of bummed out that i'm late to the party.

Lol I wouldn't have much to contribute besides "Logitech sucks" (what I currently use). Although if demik/Skoobs is close enough I wouldn't mind just handing the keyboard off. I live in west LA near UCLA (go Bruins :]).

would be sweet to do a mini meet, or even just save on shipping. i live between thousand oaks and LA, not sure if that would be too far for one of us to drive, or meet in the middle. i have a das ultimate with browns, but the browns have both the Elite keyboards firm soft landing pads and orings on them. it totally changes the feel. not sure if either of you guys would be interested in trying it out. also have a blackwidow that i am in the process of selling (have two people interested) so not sure if it will still be here when the time comes.

hm that does kinda sound far.. dunno haha. maybe if demik happens to live in the middle or something.
do the o-rings by themselves make it very different?  or did you always have both? i'm really considering getting o-rings to keep the noise down. also i'm leaning towards brown (not sure, but that's what this tester for), so i'm interested in knowing how your browns + o-rings are.

edit: oh wait do you live in camarillo? that's $15+ in gas money round trip already :( probably best to mail

i just went by his location under his name haha. i thought the locations didn't really match up either.
mm yea i guess maybe i can just hand it off to you in person if it's convenient for both of us. my closest usps is notorious for losing (or stealing) packages so i usually try to avoid them if i can.

sounds good, we can go half on the price to mail it to skoobz (unless he's willing to drive all the way down to LA, which i doubt lol) and it'll save us on shipping.

either way, when the time comes up we'll discuss it more if you want.

now i just need to find a place to take a picture of it. im thinking of making this old dude that dresses like spiderman on hollywood hold it while i snap a pic

Added you to the waiting list.  There is a cluster of guys in the first round in and around LA, you might talk to them and see if you are close enough to meet up.

edit: Well, litster's numpad only has 7 stops to make and LA is the end of the line.  PM me your address and I'll add you to his list.

If we meet up, it'll probably be in west LA/beverly hills. I'm thinking maybe a mall with a USPS (century city or westside pavilion) for maximum efficiency. Let us know if you're around that area!

that would be an hour drive for me, WITHOUT traffic.

we should get everyone talking that lives in this area though and have a full blown meet. would be legit. imagine getting to see, in person, leopold, das, and every other kind of keyboard we have amassed.

I've been thinking about doing this for Bay Area geekhackers as well.

I would be down to meet up. It would be nice to meet some community members and try out different boards.

I just got back from school, and found the pad sitting on my kitchen table. After drumming my fingers on it for a while, I've grown to like clears and reds. I don't actually like ergo clears as much as I thought I would, but it makes me think I would like a board of greens. I like the click of the blues, but the force of the blacks. Also, a couple keys are pingy, so anyone who hasn't been exposed to that will be able to experience it firsthand! I'll add a fun picture to this post when I take one! Luckily, I have the longest span of time to do so, since I got it on a Friday!
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.
