HAHA. Way off on the age but the other stuff is a good assessment.

Wouldn't mind being retired though :D

It did? I thought there was another part to go with the GH CC that was never posted yet...or maybe my GH skills have failed me.

I guess it depends how you interpert this

yeah but there is something very fancy to accompany it arriving tomorrow

As, no it's not the end-game item, the end game arrives tomrrow.

or, no this is the end-game item, and something else nice arrives tomorrow.

well the clack is the main part, the other bit im still waiting on, i guess with anything its hard to gauge how much one item means to someone else

that gh clack to me signifies something, i really like all things gh and much like everyone else enjoy my clacks, coupled with the rarity it all addded up to my most desired item, some people will look at something like that and think its just a clack or a piece of plastic, but it means something to me and im very happy to own it, its not a status symbol, its a part of geekhack history and its an honor to have it in my hands

Couldnt of said it better my friend!  :thumb:

I may have gotten a touch overzealous when it comes to SIP sockets and LEDs.  :)  I think I ended up getting about 3000 SIP sockets because I made a miscalculation.  Luckily they are only about $0.01 each.  I got about 600 LEDs which will be going on the 5 PCBs which will be arriving relatively soon.

Got about 150 switches.  The other 150 are in the mail on their way.

When the stickers and lube arrive I am going to be mind numbingly busy for a few days.  Lube, sticker, SIP, close, LED, next...

Exciting all the same.  It is fun to start to see all the different components arriving.  :P

Hehe... you end up with loads of LED since it is cheaper to buy 100 pack from China than 5 in USA. :))

That's true. $5/100 from Asia. $1/each in North America.  Crazy...

No. Two sprit boards. Two GH60s and a 40 from jdcarpe.

I originally thought the GH60 was full backlit compatible, but both sprit boards are.

Will be interesting to see which I keep. I needed a few boards to test with and without plates for my case.

you know full well this isnt my end game item, but im very touched shad got this done for me, i really dig lucky cats, my current deck is the shimizu scratcher lucky cat so they now match

When will you be showing off the endgame item then?

that has already happened good sir

I thought the AE RF was something to do with it.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Exactly this - it only took me about a week before I was entirely converted over to that layout - they first time I used another board after that I repeatedly turned on caps lock when reaching for control and ended up typing about a million \\\\ when aiming for backspace...  Also moving to a poker with the fn key in another place got me verrrrry confused...

It's my to-go board, more of work-related functions

What's really maddening is once you get used to them being in those positions, then trying to use a "regular" keyboard again!

Yeah I'm always accidentally turning on caps lock.

Can't wait for mine to arrive seeing all these posts of people getting their's is killing me  :)) I've remapped my Filco's cap's lock to be ctrl as well so I get used to it. I mean how often does anyone really use their caps lock anyway except by accident.

Really? Surely that has to take longer then simply holding either shift key?

Several of worlds fastest typist use caps lock that way for capitalization. Personally I prefer shift lock to caps lock. Latching MX on shift is just excellent.
