Unfortunately I still need to pay $100 to access the homework. Well played, textbook industry.

This is how I justify pirating the books I need.

With the upcoming release of the Nexus 5X, or whatever the name is, I finally signed up for Project fi.  Just went with the sim only option, and got this lovely package today.

It came with not only the sim I requested, but a set of headphones, a backup battery, and a Nexus 6 case.  Completely unexpected, considering it was all free.

Yep, clear switch tops came stock.

I meant I'm not sure why I bought Gateron blacks. I've never liked the linear switches I've tried (mainly Cherry), but I decided to give these a try because I've heard such good things about Gaterons being smooth.

Gateron blacks definitely feel much lighter to type on than MX blacks, but I think that's just the smoothness because it takes a good bit of force to push them down. The jury's still out...I'm typing on it now, but I'm wondering if I should've gone for browns or blues instead. Worst case scenario, I've got a good looking board that should be easy to sell at a slight loss to someone who's a fan of linears.

I sold mine for some emergency funds. It was a huge mistake and I regretted it the moment I got my payment. I even thought of ways I could cancel the transaction.

But here's to saving for the Anniversary edition! :D
Let's hope it's still in stock when I have enough. :O

Honestly half the reason I bought this board was the case it came in, it's heavy duty and looks great. But it smells a bit like old people so it'll require some febreze.

IBM 5140, I really want it to work so I may fix it up after harvesting the switches.

That case is so ****ing cool. And I'm glad you're going to try and fix up your 5140. Mine was in bad condition and I didn't want to troubleshoot it AND figure out how to clean all the grime.

58 Browns total so you'd need two 5140s. I got mine for $85 shipped and 70ish is about as cheap as they go.

Ebay has plenty if you want one but just so you know switches from two different boards may not feel the same.

Very cool key cap. I have seen a lot of that one without the sparkle. Is the sparkle on on the top of the key or is it mixed in?

Cool, referring to those to those dice they look like they're made of copper. I've attached a picture of some shapes that I own, they're made of aluminum. They could be dice except for three of them!

Not keyboard related.. I got really into fountain pens and journaling :) Got my first pen, a Rhodia journal, and some Iroshizuki ink! Not pictured is the other pen, 4 bottles of ink, journal, leather journal cover, and fancy stationery I got to write letters on... yet another sickness-.. I mean hobby!

Also got a couple of pounds of coffee beans from Wild Goose Coffee Roasters. If you love high quality coffee, you HAVE to try Wild Goose. I think they're my favorite roaster so far, and I've tried quite a lot of them :)

Oh, and a big giant 7 pound sketchbook, new Prismacolor pencils, graphite pencils, graphic pens.... Still waiting on my Hot Keys Project keys, my Mimic cables.... a fun mail week in this house :)
